Morning Maddie and Von. :-D <3 :-D <3

Everywhere was white when I woke up - and it still is. Had to de-ice the bird bath so the birdies could get a drink.

Is I getting along OK, Von? <3 <3

Off to perform my ablutions and put on a presentable face to the world.

Back later.

Enjoy your day everyone. <3

Morning Maddie, Von, Joy and everyone :-) <3 :-) <3 :-) <3 :-) <3

Thick layer of snow on top of ice here :-(

The local roads are treacherous and people are finding it hard to walk on the pavements. I'm staying put today (again!).

Take care everyone.

Good afternoon to all.

A tad "warmer" today, enough to start a thaw.
Snow has gone from the roof the drive & path alongside the front of the house, but very mucky !

Just had my new washer installed so now too get some washing in, just have to pay for the machine now !

Joan.

Great that you have a new washing machine, Joan.
I know our parents managed without them for much of their lives, but that is one thing I would rather not do without.

Been out to get a birthday card and a few items of shopping.
Lovely sunshine.
The wind has almost completely dropped, but the air is so, so, cold especially now the sun is going down :-|

Hi Gwyn,
We didn't have a washer when we got married (1967) had a baby Burco boiler for whites, hand washed the rest & used a mangle to get rid of the water.
Drying things was not easy during the winter, I didn't get a washer until 2nd baby came a long in 1974, it was a Servis with a wringer attached, loved it.

Joan.

Hello Joan, Baby Burco that was what I had for the kids' nappies.

Soaked overnight in Napisan, in a bucket from Mothercare. The smell was delightful in the morning when they were rinsed out. Then into the Burco to boil them, :-( :-D :-D

Nothing nicer than seeing 12 towelling nappies fluttering on the line :-D :-D

Happy days, our first washing machine was later, and it was a Hotpoint :-)

Baby Burco for me too to keep son's nappies snowy white :-D
That was in Cyprus.
Back home I had a 2nd hand twin-tub by the time 2nd child was born, but still boiled the nappies.

First automatic washing machine was bought in Tesco about 1978.

~~~~~~~~~~ I’ve still got my baby burco :-D :-D :-D
My mother got her first washing machine when my first baby was born and we came
to stay with my parents ;-) ;-)
Mind you my mother sent bedding to the laundry together with my father’s collars and
shirts It was collected every Monday. ;-) ;-)
