Sharron

Sharron Report 28 Nov 2013 14:44

Have just had a phone-call from Fred's mate.

As they came out of the cafe, his mate nipped into the shop next door to look for his bus pass which he had lost.

When he came back out Fred was on the ground with a crowd. He had gone adventuring while he waited and I think he put a wheel off the curb.

He has paramedics there and has gashed his head. They are waiting for an ambulance.

The ambulance man has just called me and they are bringing him home. The wheelchair is truly mullered and is being brought home on the bus.

Hope Fred is OK, poor lad - keep us posted.

Sharron Report 28 Nov 2013 14:48

I would still rather have him out adventuring than lying in bed waiting for the reaper.

Yes, get that wheel chair fixed asap Sharron or else he will be like a caged animal.

I hope his head is not too bad. What a shame to spoil his sausage sandwich day.

He is home and in bed and not looking any the worse for wear .Bit of a graze on his head.

His mate, however, is quite shaken up and thinks it is his fault. No, Fred is a grown up. He is responsible for his own bloody silly actions. It should be possible to leave him alone for a few moments without having to fight your way through the crowd when you come back.

I have asked the doctor to pop in tomorrow just in case. He might even give him his flu jab if we are lucky.

The hard part will be having in a manual wheelchair I think!

Oh NO! Falling over isn't good at any age and certainly not for Fred or his friend to witness such a thing. The both will be shocked no doubt. It's good to have the GP to come and check Fred over..... the wheelchair will mend (or not). In our town the British Red Cross have a loan service for equipment and there is no weekly charge but a donation after the item is returned. Do you have a similar facility near to you?

He is full of it.

You would think it was some kind of special treat I had devised for his birthday!

His mate, who has confidence problems anyway, was very pleased to hear this as he was beating himself up with guilt..

I think Fred just enjoyed the new experience.

He is not much going to enjoy being in his push wheelchair BUT I will know where he is for a couple of days.

Fred the Intrepid triumphs again!

Think of his (poor) mate, as well as Fred and Sharron.

Hope that the wheelchair is fixed quickly, so that you don't have to become a pusher Sharron.
