Do a bit each day if it's too hard to do at once Gwen, or type it out as best you can and get someone to help you set it out properly later on. |

BC I completely agree with you, my Mum went through the same procedures regarding PALS and such when the treatment my Nan was given was disgraceful. Everyone has a voice and if one voice is heard then the message eventually has to get through. Staying quiet about such treatment is not helping the patients that go through the same........ |

Dizzi, I hope you do follow it through because it is very important and as a patient, YOU should be very important. |

we must all be vigilant in such circumstances - many vulnerable patients will have no one to speak for them |

I can only express my disgust at this treatment,it seems to be prevelent in the NHS nowadays. The way Sasha was treated whilst in hospital having three operations(One because of Neglect) and all being possible death. Made my blood Boil and I made sure they knew about it in no uncertain way.I was Later told by the Surgeon ( Who was exceptional)that the trouble was there were too many Agency Nurses which meant no continuity with patients. You carry on with your complaint as thats the only way things will (Or Should) Improve. Take care. **M**.xx. |

Good on you for complaining,Dizzi-how dare that nurse make you feel that you're being a nuisance just for asking for help, when you needed it. |

Glad you stood your ground Gwen, if you will excuse the phrase and hope you will find the strength and energy to take this complaint further. Sometimes people let things go as they are too tired, distressed or busy to continue a complaint but things must be made clear to this 'nurse' that PD patients especially need a certain kind of help and that all patients should be treated with respect and kindness, not fobbed off with rules and regulations or an offhand remark. I wonder if she would like her own mother to be treated in such a way? |

I complained about the poor treatment my lovely Dad received at a local hospital up until the time he died - I went for it big time which ended up in a big enquiry and the ward Sister, the main focus of my complaint was reprimanded |

I complained about Nursing care once because I was so disgusted it riled me. I couldn't find someone to grumble at so I walked in a side room where chocolates were being shared and there was a general party atmosphere amongst staff whilst my frail old sister in law was under a sheet soiled with unmentionable that was THREE days old, and when the room went quiet because of this upset person who was in their midst I stated my case and then walked out in tears. I cried because it was so against my character to speak up. The next day she (Sis in law) was clean, but the atmosphere was frosty, BUT it was worth it. :-P |

I must admit that, the way you say it happened in last post, Dizzi, my 96 year old mother in law would have helped you without thinking for a moment it would put her back out. |

Dizzy, you can well do without the VERY upsetting way you were treated in hospital, because you have enough on your plate as i is. I admire the courage needed to complain about that nurse, knowiing you may be at her mercy for a few days longer, and her 'freinds' knowing that you made a complaint. I too, have had some downright 'nasties' in the past, but, being a coward, I didn't complain. You are not only doing this for yourself, but probably a lot of other patients like me, who dare not open their mouths. Wish I had had your courage back then, it would have saved a lot of agro for me, but a lot of others. |
