Good on you for complaining,Dizzi-how dare that nurse make you feel that you're being a nuisance just for asking for help, when you needed it.
You can only take people as you find them, and she seems to be a bully to me.Please DO take your complaint further, and follow it through,as Liz says.Stand up for yourself- if her conduct is investigated it might stop her doing the same thing to the next poor victim under her care.

I hope that you're feeling better,take care.

Best wishes,

Margot xx

I can only express my disgust at this treatment,it seems to be prevelent in the NHS nowadays. The way Sasha was treated whilst in hospital having three operations(One because of Neglect) and all being possible death. Made my blood Boil and I made sure they knew about it in no uncertain way.I was Later told by the Surgeon ( Who was exceptional)that the trouble was there were too many Agency Nurses which meant no continuity with patients. You carry on with your complaint as thats the only way things will (Or Should) Improve. Take care. **M**.xx.

we must all be vigilant in such circumstances - many vulnerable patients will have no one to speak for them

Dizzi, I hope you do follow it through because it is very important and as a patient, YOU should be very important.

Today I found out that the long letter I had sent to my Hospital (a large London Hospital), giving my observations, good and bad, about my treatment over the last three years...had been copied by my Oncology Nurse and sent to every Head of Department mentioned, and also to PALS, and feedback had arrived thick and fast. I am so glad I was annoyed enough to write that letter! It will give you a little bit of control back, Dizzi, and you will be doing other patients a favour.

BC I completely agree with you, my Mum went through the same procedures regarding PALS and such when the treatment my Nan was given was disgraceful. Everyone has a voice and if one voice is heard then the message eventually has to get through. Staying quiet about such treatment is not helping the patients that go through the same........

Do a bit each day if it's too hard to do at once Gwen, or type it out as best you can and get someone to help you set it out properly later on.

If you want to save something important and keep losing it, send it in an email to yourself, and you can take if from there.

I think it is necessary for everyone who has a complaint to do so and follow it up otherwise things will never be put right. I wonder if a lot of the 'callousness' or uncaring attitudes come from nurses being taught in universities now instead of learning from the bottom up actually on the wards? Perhaps they are too busy with the technicalities and such to remember that compassion is necessary too.

Take care and hope you feel better by the day

Love
Lizxx
