I've had one for eighteen months now - just love it - still read the occasional "real" book, but the Kindle is more practical |

I tend to read in bed - and the thought of 'dropping off' with a Kindle is unappealing. To wake up to a crease down your face where you've been lying on a book is bad enough. What sort of mark would a KIndle leave :-| |

I love books and have quite a few old ones I've had from youth, or bought on Ebay etc. Nothing beats the excitement of unwrapping a new hardback at Christmas (OH always buys me one). OH has a Kindle and uses it quite a lot, it's handy when he travels with work. However he still reads 'real' books :-D |

I have a Kindle and have enjoyed using it, although I still read some paperbacks. I do miss the book covers and the information about the author with the Kindle, but wanted one mainly to help with my eyesight as I can increase the font size. In some paperbacks the print is just too small |

I don't read a great deal but when I got a tablet, ( mini Ip*d), a few months ago I wasn't sure whether it was such a good idea. Having just been on holiday and debating with myself, should I take it or leave at home I decided to take it. Not only is it useful for emailing back home, playing games whilst on a long flight, writing notes for later, taking photograph and videos, but also reading any books /magazines which are easily downloaded. |

I do love my kindle but still can't resist buying the occasional paperback. I find it a bit annoying with the kindle when I want to look back to remind myself od something, that is easier with a real book. However for holidays it is brilliant especially when we go for 4 weeks. I used to take 8 paperbacks so these days my luggage is much lighter. |

Ann, it is smaller and lighter because it doesn't have the buttons under the screen that the original one does. The size of the display screen is the same height and fractionally wider. It is a touch screen, so when you are reading, you just tap it at the top to bring up a bar with symbols on which alter the print size, brightness, wireless etc. It is very easy to use. When you need it, there is an on screen keyboard where you just tap the letters, it is much easier that pressing the little letter buttons |

Linda, thanks for the information about the reflection. I have never sunbathed on a beach, (well this side of 40 years), so that is something I didn't know .-j |

I love my Kindle :-) Arthritis in the thumbs and wrists was a problem reading in bed with 'real' books, but easier with the kindle, and as others have said browsing through the free/cheap books I have discovered new authors. |
