I am not on Warfrin but asprin and summat else for blood thinning, cant remember the name.....First stuff they put me on was not Warfrin either but gave me awful headaches so I complained to the Boss(Chief DR)and he changed it..

Oh BTW DET...They didnt hurry to put me on anything after CT scan as I still waited 3 hours to be given an asprin and a glass of water which was when I decided enough was enough and I got them to let me go home.!!!

If you are taking warfarin still, are you being checked regulary so the levels are right?

My o.h.'s father was prescribed warfarin a while back and then got terrible stomach pains and felt awful, he was admitted to hospital where they found his warfarin levels were too high and it was causing bleeding into his stomach from his muscles or something. He was taken off warfarin and put on aspirin and seems to be ok now He was 82 last week.

Do get things checked out and mention this problem if you are still taking warfarin.

Hope you feel lots better soon

Assuming that Fan's isn't too distracted by all the sympathy!

"If it is suspected you had a major stroke, a CT scan is sufficient to identify whether the stroke is due to bleeding or clotting. It's quicker than an MRI scan and improves the chances of rapidly delivering treatments such as clot-busting drugs (thrombolysis) that might be used in appropriate cases, but are time-limited and require the results of the scan before the treatment can be given safely."

http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Stroke/Pages/Diagnosis.aspx

So that's why you had the quick CT scan
