I don't think it's your taste buds Brenda, I haven't had any this year but last year I bought some and was very disappointed. They used to be so good. |

We have only had them twice this year...had them the other night and could tell straight away they were Jerseys (I didn't buy or cook them) but I agree they are not as nice as they used to be |

Where did you get them from Jax? I'd like to try them - a greengrocer, supermarket or straight from a farm? |

They used to be very tasty and small pots that the skin just rolled off. |

I have to agree that these potates don't taste like they used to. You could rub the skins off and they would be a beautiful clean potato but the ones I have had this year you have to scrape quite hard and there is a lot of 'eyes' in them. They also go green very quickly if not eaten quickly Perhaps it was all the snow they had in Jersey this year. |

Heard this on the radio the other day. The Jersey farmers can no longer put seaweed on the soil for potatoes to fertilise it. |

Definitely not like they used to be but...............do you not think they are much bigger than they used to be is it the bigger they are the less taste?? are they growing them bigger on purpose to sell less pots per pound and get more money?? just a thought. If as PatinCyprus says they are not using seaweed well is that not where they got their taste from ? :-| |

I definitely don't think they taste like they used to, and as Pat says, this could be that the farmers can no longer use seaweed. The ones I've seen seem so large, too - I struggle to find small ones that you don't need to cut up. |

Priced in Morrisons at £4 a bag (a kilo), I refused to buy them. Much cheaper but still expensive a few days later I bought some but wish I hadn't -They were tasteless!!! |

No Jersey Mids were just that a bit larger but not as big as the Royals and the Nips were really tiny |

Mine were loose from Morrisons and I tried to pick the smaller ones, but as you say ,a lot of them were big...they weren't green, but I can see that it might be the seaweed tat gave them the special taste. |
