Thanks to you all for your good wishes. Yes, it was indeed 37 years ago to-day that my handsome fast-bowler married me in a small country church in Sussex on a cold, pea-souper day. Had to be in February - out of the cricket season, of course ;-)

In his words, he took me off the shelf and dusted me down about 18 months before and the rest is history - I became a cricket widow!! Even when I went into labour with our first child the following year, he had to be called away from the match he was playing in on a Saturday afternoon at Kew Cricket Club. One of the headlines in the local paper read 'R.... Bowls Maiden Over'!

The old fella's bowling arm retired quite a while ago, but these days he is secretary of his cricket club, so still keeps his hand in and away from under my feet :-D

Thanks Uzzi - we shall be celebrating later.
