Just got in and not managed to read the thread yet. Had a Eureka moment thsi afternoon.

Was the answer Ashburnham Golf Course? Just dawned on me today as I was walking from Mountain Ash to Blaenlechau over the mountain.

It was the Ash in Mountain Ash that gave me the first clue. Then it was easy to deduce from that. Needed a pipe or two of my waccy baccy first. :-D

AnnC Waccy Baccy is not a serious point. I do not really do drugs. It was just a faintly humorous allusion to Sherlock Holmes. Will have to explain all my posts to you from now on, even though you do not read them. :-(

AnnCardiff Report 30 Oct 2012 18:53

Hello Dizzi - John accused me of flouting GR rules by inviting you to come on to the Welsh thread - his waffle about waccy baccy and drugs is a mystery to me, or Sherlock Holmes, but as I have no intention of every getting into any dialogue with him again it doesn't really matter

As I said, you will be welcome to come on the Welsh thread, whether you have Welsh blood or not - John knows he is not welcome after causing the first and only dissent we have ever had on there

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 30 Oct 2012 19:10

AnnC It was a gentle leg pull on a fun thread and the exact words I used were "probably broke rules". Have appealed as I am upset they would uphold such a refer as that.

Do you really not believe that you have been abusing me for days on here on various threads? But no way will you provoke me, try as you may. Almost all of what you have said has been at best partially true. And half truths can also be half ****.

Chickens come home to roost, Ann. Much better you ignore me and my contributions from now on.

As you full well know, I have been on the Welsh thread ( a very nice and supportive thread) a couple of times since I apologised to Shaun. And have been treated with politeness each time.

Three cheers for the person who had a Eureka moment about the question posed this morning and came up with the right answer almost 4 hours after it had been put on the boards !!!

That takes some doing.:-0

:-D Oh Sadie, it was obviously a tongue in cheek reply. ;-)

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 30 Oct 2012 20:28

AnnC Glo Calad has "nothing to do with coal or coal mining". Nantyglo clearly does. Are you reading thread or just having a pop? Don't answer that - I am having a monological moment. Talking to myself that means - hope not TOO patronising.;-)

This is a tongue in cheek reply :-D

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 30 Oct 2012 22:17

So pleased to have worked out that Glo Calad today - and I had stopped in the Llanwonno Arms for a salad when it came to me. And to get home and find that my answer was correct was a double bonus. :-D :-D

No congrats on this thread for my brilliant deduction, but - hey - jealousy of a fine deductive mind is ubiquitous. Even LeStrange had his doubts about Holmes.

Have a bicycle theft in Blaenllechau to solve on the morrow. Vicar mentioned theft in his sermon. Preaching on adultery, he suddenly remembered where he had left his bike. But it had disappeared from Ms Keeler's house when he went to retrieve it later, so investigation starts tomorrow. :-)

Allan Report 30 Oct 2012 22:25

lol John. Is wickipedia not working at the moment?

I'm fairly certain That it was Inspector Lestrade who had his doubts about Holmes..of course, they could have been LeStrange doubts!! ;-)

JustJohn

JustJohn Report 30 Oct 2012 22:32

:-D :-D Allan 1 John 0 :-( :-( :-(

Just wickied Allan and, if you pronounce it with your tongue out and wrapped round an Australind lamp-post, it means "out". When I used to play tennis with a friend, he would shout "Allan" at me every single point. And you definitley smashed your shot home like Rod Laker - "mewn" or "in".
