Mau - I live about 30 miles north of you - thunder and lighning here too - when you said turn the lights off I thought you must have had the power cut we did as one lightning happened but of couse you wouldn't have electricity for the computer - second thoughts, perhaps you use a well-charged laptop or something

Hi All, well we had another session of it early afternoon, and just heared on the local news that we could be in for some more, which would not suprise me at all, as I do not feel it is any cooler.
I had to laugh to myself though. And ,yes I know I shouldn't. Just after we had the one this morning, there was a phone call into the local radio station from a man who lives in the next little township from me.
Apparently they mowed the grasses on the nearby estate, Council that is, not his Lordship's, and as usual had not removed the clippings. Well the rain swept the clippings into the drains, blocking them, and resulting in peoples gardens being flooded.
Typical council mentality, I say. It is not as if it wasn't well forecasted.

Wilting in the muggy heat here in the south east near Channel coast.

Literally a few spots of rain about 8am, but stopped within a minute or two.

High humidity, so not comfortable.

We had torrential rain earlier we were in town and luckily in Debs having coffee but we wore raincoats as we went in on the bus and rain was forecast and it was so hot and sticky out in the street, luckily it was cool in the shops as most have air con these days. Then the sun came out and it is even hotter, we were glad to get home after a sticky bus ride. We did have lunch in Wetherspoons with a glass of wine, gosh it was crowded, and one of the servers poor girl fell down the last of a flight of stairs carrying a pile of crockery, that woke us up. She was shocked but got up after a while holding an ice pack on her wrist so hopefully was not too badly hurt. They will rush around and pile up the plates too high, I guess they are under pressure but nobody has told them 'more haste, less speed'! :-D

Just had a huge thunderstorm in Herefordshire and total deluge. Roads and area around the houses flooded.

OH says worse than the 2007 floods for the speed and volume of the rain.

The thunder has done a u-turn ( I name this storm David Cameron) and has now moved back over us and it's also torrential rain with huge hailstones in it ...I somehow don't think we will get out the front door to the college....

Well, it has now passed for the time being. Rain has stopped, sun is trying to get out, no banging and flashing.
I'm on me fourth crochet girls cardigan this week, local radio is now back on the air, and baby dog is having a Daddy cuddle to soothe her nerves.
OH has now got to go down to the allotment and tie up, everything the torrential rain has battered down.
Hope it does not return this afternoon.

Back to normal, for a while at least.
