Why would a father (or mother) be denied contact unless for safety reasons??

An "absent" parent can go to court etc to gain access, i dont understand why that parent wouldnt do that. I dislike my ex husband with a passion, i never once stopped him seeing our kids when they were young, they have made their own mind up, they see him except for my son who is now an adult, refuses point blank to acknowledge him as a father.

I think, mads, that the fear is that if it goes to court then it is set in stone if you see what I mean. In other words if the child turns around at a stage in their life where they are not able to make informed decisions and says they never want to see their mother or father again then the court can set it as a legal right of the child and their final decision

I understand Errol, but the ruling is for children, once they get to a certain age they have the right to say whether they want to or not, then the choice is theirs, if that makes sense, i just confused myself lol

Anyhow, after a certain age, it is the kids right to decide, i stand by my sons decision, also my daughters,
