har har - I remember my granny used to tie rags to our feet and let us slide in the hallway. We weren't usually allowed to play in granny's house, so this was a treat! She got her floor polished and my brother and I were happy :-D and out of the way of the adults (this was in the days of "children are seen as little as possible and not heard at all") :-P

I wasn't lazy,,,,,,just had too many kids...
so used to put them in a bath with sponges and squirt food colouring on the walls....
The kids would bathe and clean the bathroom at the same time....

hi muffy, I agree with straykitten and dust never gets higher than an inch anyway, so, long as you can see the computer screen, why worry? lol

Happy Easter!

lol Janet. I've got a magic cupboard - known as a dishwasher. I wash the pots & pans & plastic things in the sink, but everything else goes in the cupboard. It only gets switched on when it's full. :-D

I remembered another "shiny house" person....... my OH got cat hair in his dinner! :-( I'm very allergic to cats, so we had to leave early cos I was wheezing like an old church organ :-(

Scozzie, much as I like budgies the thought of one in a kitchen. Not nice. The down goes everywhere when they fluff their feathers after a good fettle.
I might leave the washing up for three days unless I know someone is going to call. Working out the bet I reckon a 3 to 1 chance of someone calling unexpectedly is worth saving some water by not washing up. It also gives the impression that I have had a gathering otherwise why would there be so many pots.-jl

I remember Quentin Crisp on tv - his house was horrible! I could almost smell it through the tv. There wasn't much dust, it had turned into slime.

Years ago we were invited to OH's work colleague place for dinner. I'd been told she was very houseproud. Yup, everything had been scrubbed within an inch of its life, whole house shining. But - there was a budgie cage hanging over the kitchen counter, feathers, birdseed & poop scattered......... I may not have a shiny house, but you won't find bird poo in your dinner! :-D

my fridge magnet says "The Butler and the Maid Quit"

Housework is only rearranging dust anyway, the dust will be back tomorrow.

If "dust to dust" is true, there's a man growing under my bed.

I don't care if you write your name in my dust, but please don't put the date :-D
