I got this info from a different forum, I am merely spreading the word!!

To those of a certain age

if you didn't know already,

For anyone who does not know, there is an online petition asking for the restoration of age related tax allowances otherwise known as the Granny Tax.

Signed.
What amazes me is how few people have realised what´s behind it all.
The Government was forced to raise pensions in line with inflation in October, when it was standing at 5.3 %.
As the rise doesn´t come into effect until next month & inflation has fallen, they have realised that they can´t change it now, so have devised another means of getting some of the money back.
What they fail to realise is that pensioners have been coping with high inflation since April 2011 & are merely playing catch up.
Wonder why they haven´t thought of a way of getting money back from benefit claimants whose entitlement will rise by the same percentage next month.
Because pensioners are sitting ducks.!!!!
