put him in a safe place, also wrap him snuggley,,,,,, monitor him at all times,do not leave his side for anything, not a fag or a potty session or food.,,,,,,,,and put a pamper on him as sure as hell he will wet himself sleeping all those hours....or he may not sleep at all is most likely .

Ever heard the story of the boy who called 'wolf'?

ChrisofWessex

ChrisofWessex Report 5 Mar 2012 13:35

I do not think that was funny Eldrick - I was concerned about your dog. As Ann says - the boy cried wolf - too often. There is also the saying - be careful what you wish for - you may get it.

Rambling Report 5 Mar 2012 13:40

Homeopathic 'sleeping' tablets are given out by vets for travelling, they do work... the dog won't sleep as such but it does make them drousy.( edit perhaps calmer is a better term)

I would imagine that as with many tablets, an overdose won't kill you but it could have an effect on the liver or kidneys?

Rambling Report 5 Mar 2012 13:49

It's not funny, sorry Eldrick but you know that whilst you personally rubbish homeopathic stuff, and fair enough that you do, plants are used in the make up of it, and certain plants CAN cause ill effects in animals, pregnant women and those with heart conditions. (St John's wort and lavender to name two)

uncle E your so naughty lol

BUT funny yes your right they dont work

Eldrick

Eldrick Report 5 Mar 2012 13:59

lol

a typical homeopathic 'remedy' is 200C. one molecule in the entire visible UNIVERSE would be 80c.

Homeopathy doesnt work except as a placebo, proven 100% by real scientists. Its only lactose at most and nothing at best.

It is not humanly possible to overdose on homeopathy, never been known and never will be because it is simply impossible! I wouldn't joke about it if it WAS possible.

supercrutch

supercrutch Report 5 Mar 2012 13:59

WHAT?????????????????? :-D :-D :-D

A friend gave me homeopathic sleeping pills which contained wild lettuce, I spent all night sitting up to make sure I kept breathing!!!!!!

Rambling

Rambling Report 5 Mar 2012 14:08

and are you 100% sure there is nothing else in them ,something else to make them more palatable perhaps? that IS possible, and not to be joked about imo.

Kay????

Kay???? Report 5 Mar 2012 14:09

Plant ingreidents do have an effect,

St Johns Wort,,,,,,as been mentioned,

Gingsen,,thats a plant.

Lavender oil isnt to be used by people who suffer epilespy, thats on my granddaughters hospital list of do donts and not recommended to use......

Eldrick Report 5 Mar 2012 14:21

ah,Kay, but thats not homeopathy, thats herbal and different altogether. Herbal remedies can be highly effective, even the Cochrane Collaboration Committee agree on that, clinical trials have proved things like St John Wort to have a beneficial effect. But it is taken in meaningful quantities, not diluted way beyond Avagrados limit.

And yes, I am totally sure that there is nothing at all in homeopathic tablets that could be harmful. Because there is nothing at all in them! The first thing I do when I am talking to a group about quack treatments and other like things is to swallow 100 arnica tablets in front of them. No one has ever come to any harm from them. And never will! Neither have they ever cured anyone, mind :-D
