Did you know that Oxfam send all their donated Bra's to Africa.

In some cases they are vital.....Teenage girls are less likely to be raped if they wear one. The men seem to think they are available if they don't wear one!! Its often a status thing too, it gives others the impression they can afford them .But more often then not they can't afford to buy underwear at all, so in some ares they are given free. In other area's the women set up stalls and sell them.

Oxfam has run this system for some time now 4 - 5 years, other charities do a simular thing. Check it out on the web sites..."Bra's for Africa" or "Oxfam & Bra's" etc.
Soo come on ladies sort your Bra's out and get them to Oxfam where they will be sent to the recycle centre and made very good use of....all year round.

Edit.....IF YOU do take any into an Oxfam shop. pleasae tell the staff it is for the Bra's project (which should run all year) and they go into the RAG BAGS. Some managers like to sell them in the shop where as some don't!!
