I dont mind January at all, unless it gets all hot and humid. January is the birthday month in our family. My new gt grandson on the first, my OH on the 4th, my son and I on the 11th, and a few nieces and nephews.

What I hate is the winter (mid-year for us) when we have days on end of rain.

Huia.

I'm just feeling great having had that awful cough/cold going around for Xmas and the New Year. Looking forward to the Dickens adaptation, The Mystery of Edwin Drood on the telly, Thursday and to going to the cinema to see The Iron Lady.

Best wishes with your treatment Julie.

January isn't my favourite time of year either, but if I'm here to blow out the candles on my birthday cake, and to become a year older I'll be more than happy :-D

So can I say to all who have or are having health problems I sincerely hope this year will bring you all the good luck in the world.

Ann, what else are we all here for. We help each other. Goodness knows, you have done your share of supporting others. Now it is everyone else's turn to support you.

Merlin yeah I know we did last year. The also leave cards in your cabin advising how to much to pay your cabin boy/butler, its est about £50.00 a week needless to say NO we didnt pay that we tip him what we wanted to tip.

I really don't like January and am trying to be positive despite all the negatives surrounding me at the moment. Waiting for the results of daughter's oncologist appointment, waiting while the decorating drags on, and on. Days still mostly dark and grey I'd even welcome some snow to brighten things up if it wasn't for people who have to go out.

But I shall enjoy my new clean lounge when finished. And I am enjoying reading as usual. Also writing and reading for the writer's group that has rejuvenated. There is a hellebore out in the garden so spring can't be that far away.

Julie, good luck with the RT.
Hayley enjoy your cruise.
Sheila enjoy your break.

sorry though if I have added to the gloom and doom by putting up my woes re daughter's problem. It is difficult when your friends are mainly on line and hard to remember that not everyone want to be depressed by sad news.

Watch you bill at the end Hayley, according o what I read today P&O are adding tips on at £3.10.for cabin stewards each day, plus the same for restaraunt staff . I think you can opt out if you wish ,but be careful.Enjoy your trip .
