Mac has had so much hassle with this superbug recurring and him being resistant to antibiotics etc and along with his other ailments, it really pulls him down and stops him doing what he wants to do.

He has asked for no emails for the mo but will wait and see if I hear from him by next week, if not will send a message.

Maybe I should add a note that I may have misunderstood his ailments too, since I have been castigated for misinformation on another thread.

Liz - I was told by consultant that it was a rare and nasty bug which lies dormant and can recur at any time. All I know is that OH agrees it has put me back a year in my recovery. So I feel very much for Mac and wish him well.

Liz I find it very dissopointing you should use Mac thread as a dig about somthing tht is going on, on another thread, :(
Let's keep this thread as its intended well wishes for t lovely Mac :))

Mac knows what he is up against as he has had to be treated several times for this horrible bug. Such a shame.

I emailed Mac yesterday to ask if he was around again and this came today:


Hi Liz,

Just opened up the inbox for first time ..........I came out of Horsepiddle last night.

Not as successful as the last time, spent 6 days on Drips (3 times a day), but this year it was Pseudomonas Pneumonia, last year it was Haemophilus Influenzae

This time also they gave me another Virus Bug (Not permanent), it was coming out in front top and backside, it was terrible, as if I didnt have enough to content with and one bed at a time they closed the Ward, I was the last to be sent home

Every time I go into Scarborough I pick up something else, .Real "Peed orf"

Feeling very weak and fragile at the moment, but am hoping that given a few days rest and warmth I may be able to throw the last of it off until the next time

So many of our hospitals have wards closed through the norovirus that it is scary if you have to go in. Poor Mac thatw as all he needed. I wish him a good recovery from that and the other. Thanks Liz.

Poor Max hope he continues to recover. Sad thing is that when you are low you will pick up nasty bugs. Good luck Mac.

Thanks everyone for your support.. are there any Miracle Workers or Magicians out there

I picked the up TWO superbugs, Pseudomonas and Haemophilus Influenzae, while I was In for a Prostate and Bladder operation SEVEN years ago, so far it has put me back in SEVEN times since then.

My problem is that in the Navy 1955, I had Pneumonia and I had it again in 1962 when I went from the Med in July (110F) to Jutland, Denmark the next day (45F), the day after that to the fields in Southern Sweden (again in 45-50-F), I can remember saying to someone "I need to sit down before I fall down", next thing I remember was waking up four days later in Helsingborg Hospital, I was in there for two weeks before they flew me home ...........But, unfortunately my right Lung was damaged and it is today being attacked regularly attacked by the aforesaid

They are completely resistant to ALL Oral Antibiotics, last year I had 40,000 Milligrams of the strongest antibiotic you can take in 4 weeks, .750 mg Ciprofloxicin (twice a day) and 500 mg amoxicillin (three times a day) ........No effect whatsoever

It came back 7 weeks ago and I refused to give up because, if it was my last Christmas I wanted to be with my 2 little Princesses on Christmas Day, I made it but only just, I had no option, the Doctor wanted to call an Ambulance there and then on the Thursday before New Years Eve, but he let me go home overnight and arranged admittance first thing in the morning

Oh BTW, I mentioned my 2 little Angels and the youngest, Hannah at 5 years, 9 months and 21 days made it to the FRONT PAGE of a National Newspaper on Christmas Eve, The Daily Telegraph, It took me a lot longer do do that, I was 17 and I didn't get my name mentioned, I was Queens Guard on Horse Guards Parade standing on parade next to the Queen in 1954

Thankyou for them Scarborough Hospital, you have ruined my life, all the tests were negative before the Op but all the tests since have been positive

One thing for sure now is ..........I WILL NEVER GET MY PILOTS LICENSE BACK
