Morning all. I'm being nosy and would like to know what is:

(a) the longest full name you have in your tree?
(b) the oddest name you have in your tree?

For me it has to be:

(a) Elizabeth Agnes Theophilea Glandfield Abel
(b) Pansy Virginia Upsdell

I have a couple that always make me smile because they are unusual (to me).

Melchisedeck Warnet
Theophillus Luff

Neither actually in my direct line. The first off to the side in my tree and the second off to the side in OH's tree. Otherwise mine are fairly ordinary.

Morning Matthew and Everyone
I have a gt.gt. Aunt who had the name
Margaret Eliza Wells Webster Turner

I know where all the names came from, with the exception of Wells. That one is a real stickler for me.

Each generation was named after the one before, so when finding someone, I have to really look for the birth date, to know which generation they belong to.

Through marriage, I have the surname Kitchen, in my tree. Glad is wasn't Toilet.

Take Care

Ahh to have unusual names like that in your tree!! :)

This weekend I've been wondering where to start looking for a connection to John Jones who has appeared as a witness on one my ancestor's weddings, witness to a will and I think the reason why another ancestor has Jones as her middle name.

Not only do a lot of my ancestors have common surnames but they have been given common forenames to match lol

Annina

Annina Report 11 Dec 2011 16:34

I suppose that my given name,Annina is unusual as I am,as far as I have found out,English, I also have on grandad's line, lots of Mordecai's,and the nicest surname is Waterfall,an old Derbyshire name.

a while back we had a long running thread on odd names - unfortunately, although they were all genuine from the census, some of them were pretty disgusting - Brummiejean and I found most of them - GR whooshed the thread!!! that was before the site changed hands - perhaps we shold give it another go!!!

Charity Box was a favourite along with Cherry Tree and Christmas Day - there were rather a lot of Fanny's and I think that was what cooked the thread!!!
