Good to see that you got a pill down BC.Another thought ,one bit of Penne Pasta(cooked of course).Pop the pill in the middle ,block the ends with something tasty, hold it high .......and hopefully down it goes ;-) ;-) |

Any getting George to take his worm pills is always fun, not, if I crush them up into his dinner he turns his nose up at the dinner , though he gets nothing else until his hunger gets the better of him. If the pill is whole no mater what it gets put in it is spat out even after the food it has been put in has been eaten. Yet when we go to the vets for his yearly boosters, what does he do when the vet brings out the injections starts drooling - though this could because he knows a liver treat is given to him by the vet once the shot is done. |

Looks like George and my dog have a lot in common,Michelle. I caught her this morning when she was hungry and managed to get a buttery drug laced ham piece into her gob! Success!! :-D :-D |

I suppose it depends what your dogs fav treat is. My dog happens to love cherry tomatoes, putting a slit in one and popping in a pill is thus easy. |

George doesn't like to take any form of medicine and at the beginning of the year after he had a growth removed from his leg he was on pills for a week, first day was fine as he was to doppy from the op to realise he was eating pills, rest of the week pills had to be given with a peanut butter ball |

I used to hide medication inside a triangle of cheese spread for my dog and cats, altho cats were really easy to treat, holding firmly under one arm and tucking pill inside side of mouth and stroking their throats. If that failed I would use the cheese spread. |

Buttercup - after all that I would definitely try the chocolate - don't make a big thing of if. |

Same as Amanda BC. ..cept I crush it between two spoons and then hide it inside the butter (generous amount) over a small chunk of bread....none of my dogs can resist it. |

*sighs....thanks all. What I have is a deeply suspicious dog in the normal course of things so tonight she has turned her nose up at...ham, jam, butter, sausage, treats and is now lying under the table, sneering and going ner...ner...ner...or a doggie equivalent... |
