I got my letter last week but a neighbour who has not received her letter rang them up and was told that not everyone would get a letter but the money would be paid into the bank/postoffice in the next two weeks.

I had the letter yesterday and OH had his Saturday, in the bank for both of us today. Wouldn't think it was NI numbers as mine and Oh are not together being two years between us.

How much you can get
The amount of Winter Fuel Payment has changed. The amount you get for winter 2011/12 is likely be different to last winter.

These are the amounts of Winter Fuel Payment for winter 2011/12 listed by your personal situation.

Situation Born on or before 5 January 1951 Aged 80 or over on or before 25 September 2011
You live alone £200 £300
You are the only person in the household who qualifies £200 £300
You live with another qualifying individual who is under 80 £100 £200
You live with another qualifying individual who is 80 or over £100 £150
You get Pension Credit, income-based Jobseeker's Allowance or income related Employment and Support Allowance.

This is a full rate payment regardless of other eligible people in the household.

You get Pension Credit, income-based Jobseeker's Allowance or income related Employment and Support Allowance. And you live with another qualifying person in the household who qualifies for Winter Fuel Payment.



If someone else in the household is eligible, but not on the above benefits, and not your partner/civil partner they'll get a shared payment.

When you'll be paid
Most payments are made between November and December 2011. Over twelve million payments are being made during this time. It’s not possible to be more detailed about when you will receive your Winter Fuel Payment. You will receive a notification letter and this will give you a more specific estimated payment date.

Due to how payments are made, you could receive your payment at a different time to someone in your household or living near you.

Do not contact the government about when you’ll receive your payment - unless you have not received it by January 2012.

My surname begins with J.
No money & no letter yet.
First became eligible in 2005 & recieved it with no problem for 3 years.
2008 nothing until February afterI rang to query the non payment. Was told they were checking my eligibility......after 3 years .
Got it with no problem 2009 & 2010, but as I said, no sign yet this year.

Our surname starts with T and we live in Kent

We both got our letters today and cant make out how much we will get . It say £100 but as there's other qualifying in the same household its split so do we get £50 each or what.

Yes like others had letter, in bank 3 days later I always get £100 first, husband about 2 weeks later.

No word yet. I received payment first but when OH reached 65 half was sent to him. I remind him yearly he has robbed me!!!!

OH received his today in his bank account, as others have said, £50 less than last year.
