Cooper Report 14 Oct 2011 19:54

I am a very tidy person in the house and garage but........

My loft which is very big is also very full with things that OH and I cant get rid of.
This includes my dolls house my Grandad made, action men, dolls, a full size pram and cot, baby clothes, all the happy street, books barbies and barbie house, horse etc.

"takes a big breath" Mum and Dad and Grandparents stuff, and 7 years of girls clothes which I thought would come in handy for the next baby we had...
Baby was a boy :-D

I have got better passing on my sons things to a friend from work and I do send as much as I can to the charity shops. We are lucky to have good recycling facilities nearby.

Teresa :-D

:-D to Island. I'm on OHs iPad thing and can't find the wave!

Chris, a lot of people havent heard of Freecycle. I am always telling folk about the benefits. Have passed on loads of stuff we no longer used, even things i thought no one could use! The surplus plants from my garden all go on there. It is one place where you can recycle furniture. A good wood worker can make a lot of things out of an old wardrobe or sideboard. My magazines go to the local hospital waiting rooms and glad they are of new ones.
I have a large collection of teddy bears which is giving me a headache. The only place I can think of is the local auction rooms.

May I add I am on a calorie control diet Sharron thats the only reason why, nowt wrong with freezing and making food go further, I tend to do different meals for us all, my children are grown up now and we all work different work patterns so if we all get to sit down together for meal a week ifs an occasion, if we are all home sundays which happens about 1 week in maybe 5 then I do a roast and if me Mam is there always do her one for her dinner the following day. :-D

Oh God,that is so organized.Respect!

I always end up making hanging soup or pasties.
Big pot of hanging soup on the stove now that we had tonight. Actually,it probably tastes better than things I planned.

That is usually what happens to anything I doggy bag. Leftover curry and stale bread made some cracking rissoles last week.

Dizzi

I wasn't expecting a personal response to my post I just thought it rude that a serious thread seemed to have gone so far off topic with little acknowledgement of the subject.

Hoarding is a very thorny issue with me, having seen what this unfortunate habit can do to a hoarder when it gets to the point of no return. At some point it has to be dealt with - usually by a grieving family who have enough on their plates without having anothers lifetime detritus to sift through and dispose of.

I've been that 'awful' person at the tip, getting shot of stuff just so we could see the wood for the trees. I wonder how many smug beggars sat and judged me? Like I give a toss.

Hayley, re ghost lego.......you're along the same lines as me. That 'awful' man could have lost a child through death, divorce or unreasonable girlfriend. So getting shot of the toys could have been his kneejerk way of dealing with the loss.
Maybe the goody two shoes brigade should go door knocking with a cart once a week to see if those of us who have too much to deal with need some clutter taking to the chazzie shop :-D

Oh l hate clutter,
l could never understand someone with a attic full of stuff that they are not going to use why keep it !
when we moved here l did have somethings l didn't want to part with but after a few months l knew l wasn't going to use them so put them on the wall outside and told people to help themselves, everything went within 15 minutes :-D

Silly Sausage

Silly Sausage Report 14 Oct 2011 14:27

Says it all really Dizzi maybe if I comment on your photo !

Before I am wrongly accused of going of topic, I personally think that hoarding is extremely unhygienic, as well as I don’t like mess or clutter I like things to be in their rightful place, I also think that clutter brings bad karma however this is my personal opinion. Now with regards recycling children’s toys and clothes yes I know when mine were young I was glad they had older cousins. What I and I suspect a couple of people object too, is the complete character assassination of someone a stranger to everyone in fact that simply has chosen not too recycle, I personally think that is outrageous, as it has already been said no one knows the circumstances why these toys have been disposed off. NO ONE ! He may feel they carry bad karma after all they maybe even be haunted by a bad ghost. :-( :-D ;-) :-S
