Have been away today so have just watched recording.

Rice pudding was mentioned and James said it was a favourite,so that dish will still be kept.
Didn't like the appearance of the Mousakka and Aubergine is not imo a very popular vegetable. The hard part of menu planning is finding dishes that look good but keep looking good when they reach the wards. Think though James has a big task keeping to budget, but I did like his omelettes

I like to see the friendliness between James and the staff. When he fell over in the dining room Pat really pulled his leg about it didn't she? :-D

Also getting Helicopter Heroes in my area next week.Thats Yorkshire region.

Was amazed when they were talking with the meat producer and she said she was getting left with the cheap cuts such as mince and stewing beef etc. The lady from the hospital said that is what they use a lot of.

Seems as if the hospital procurement system needs a look at to encourage the local producers to get their produce in the hospital

Why can they not cook the food later in that day rather than placing in the hot cabinets and then heating again before it is served to the patients.

Morning...yes did watch it.
l agree his receipe's do seem abit expensive, but nice all the same. The aburgene(sp) one would be very expensive, lamb is something l rarely buy.......but saying that in general once the restaurant start to make money that should be going back into kitchen budget, so they will be able to be more adventrous(sp), especially where the frozen omlettes are concernd.....yuck!!!
Its on all next week aswell:)

Hello
are you still watching ? i noticed today .the things Rita has said .the ingrediants James wants to use are way over budget .or would be .people in hospital .want & need a good varied diet & something tasty .i agree with local produce. free range eggs .local milk .if you cooked say meat in big pots with onion .that could be used with added veg day after ,& rice pudding has not been mentioned .good home made can be really nice with nutmeg ..which again could be used Day after ..sorry james .your recipes`are to fancy for hospital patients!!`pork .chicken casseroles` savoury rice .jacket potatoes..meat & potato pie .fish & chips salads .oven chips ,apple pie.fruit crumble, .fruit salad tray bakes .which could be sliced when wanted..fruit scones .cheese scones. .there are so many foods you could use without double cream & loads of butter ,.lets see what the last day brings might be eating my words . :-D

Another good programme this morning. Amazed that they are
going to keep profits and feed back into kitchen, and what a
disgrace that James had to buy them a piece of kitchen equipment,
cause they had no chance of getting it from the trust. £5000 not a lot
of money but at least a start, am so in their corner for going forward.
James seems to have another problem by the looks of it tomorrow.
