Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 28 Jun 2011 04:46

It was a hot and sticky evening in my part of Norwich, a few raindrops fell around 10pm as I was partly closing the greenhouse and then nothing, dry all night and looks like another warm day today.
The people are busy setting up the Royal Norfolk show for Weds and Thursday - hope it stays dry for them to put it all together and then maybe some gentle rain overnight and nice weather during the day. I would love to go but at £16 it's a bit expensive! Every year I say I will go and then don't but would have to get a whole day in for that money and you know me and mornings!
I bet I will do what my son did when we were away, water the garden and then it will rain, he had just put away the hose and got soaked cycling back home bless him.

Ann, we had the hailstones here, just a short storm but boy did they bounce off the road.

Still hot and sticky here in Jersey and for the second night running had to deal with a couple of hundred flying ants who seem to have taken a liking to the bathroom!

Just beginning to cloud up here, but sooo hot and sticky. Even the cat is stretched out on the floor in front of the fan, and he hates the fan-monster, usually spits at it.

I thought everyone knew - summer was the month of April this year - at least it was in the south!

Gwyn in Kent

Gwyn in Kent Report 27 Jun 2011 16:41

Hot and sticky in the far south east, but then I'm nearer the equator than some of you !
Actually we are nearer to France than to London, but as the heat is coming from across the Channel, we are getting more than a fair share today.

I love hot weather but not if it is humid and sticky which is what we get here if the temperature rises. It is a bit cooler now but dull too. I think London traps the ehat which is what makes it unpleasant. As you say it is the buildings, they give off heat anyway, it always seems warmer in a built up street.

ButtercupFields

ButtercupFields Report 27 Jun 2011 16:14

Ann, I am far more at ease in the colder weather but maybe that is because when London gets the heat,it is quite unbearable! I feel a streak coming on :-D :-D

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 27 Jun 2011 14:38

BC you should have thrown yourself on to their laps when the trin jolted. They might have got the message then,

I too wanted to throttle the weather forecaster who assured us it would be cooler which would make us all feel better. I don't 'do' cool. (If I can help it.)
