Barbra, I thought the same when I read that they had been identified. I hope their parents will be strict with them too, sounds as tho they might be as they are respectable and devastated at their kids' behavious. Maybe someone from rspca or another wildlife rescue place could talk to the whole school about some of the horrific things that happen and how hard it is to help all the injured animals.

Hope the little beggars learn a lesson and are better people in future.

Ann, yes I am proud of the way my lad cares about others, he is very thoughtful and kind.

My o.h. is the sort who would pass on the other side, I am afraid and he has brought his sons up to be the same, they think only of themselves.

At least the school have taken it seriously Anne which is good. And maybe the parents will give out their own punishments if they are, as you say, respectable.

And I agree there would be some merit in making the punishment fit the crime in some way.

AnnCardiff Report 24 Jun 2011 22:01

an excellent idea Barbra - I would imagine that some of these children actually own pets

Barbra

Barbra Report 24 Jun 2011 20:38

Ann at least the school have done something about it & the parents now know .how their children behave .. let us know any further news please & i myself think they should go to an animal shelter & help to look after sick or injured animals .& birds . dont know if it would work . but just show them how evil there acts were & how the shelters .help animals not destroy them Barbra yj

daughter in law just been n touch with me - she spoke to the Deputy Head of the school today and he confirmed that four pupils had been excluded and they are still looking at the CCTV to identify any others. The parents of the four excluded are very respectable parents who are devastated at what their children have done, so some progress there. My dil suggested to the head that the children should be given some pointers in how to treat animals - or how not to treat them - as well as being reprimanded - so far a good result

just had a response from the RSPB

Hello Ann, thank you for your report via our website.

This is a disturbing incident and I hope the school will take action against them. You could report this to the police although I’m not sure whether they will act due to the age of the children. I think they will leave it with the school. Was the school going to tell you what action they were taking?
Best wishes

Haven't heard back from dil yet - tried to report it to police today as it was also a road safety issue, but either my son or dil has to report it, so I'll wait for them to do it

waiting to hear from dil as to how she got on with the school today
