To go to my bed tonight, got my new mattress topper this afternoon, it says on the destructions to leave it laying flat for twelve hours to settle & fill out but it's only going to get eight & i'm in it.lol

You'll love it McB I'm sure.

I wouldn't worry too much about the 12 hrs thing...as long as it's properly risen (which i think mine was after about 3 hrs) ...it'll be fine x

enjoy,,you wont notice for a couple of days just how good a sleep you get and no pressure on joints.....then youll want the full matress......}}}}}}}}

I've only just recently got the pillows Kay ... For some reason I wasn't convinced they would be comfortable...daft I know because the mattress is soooooooooo comfortable...but I agree they work really well too. x

Can't afford the mattress Kay, this things cost me £140, it's the 7cm thick one, do the pillows feel hot ?, i like a cool one.

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 13 Feb 2011 19:22

My pillows don't feel hot at all...

My mattress has air holes which lets some of the heat out so I've never had a problem with it being too hot.

Not sure whether the toppers have the same thing? x

Have a great night, McB, even if it hasn't fully risen.

I'm really interested in getting one myself. Can anyone recommend one please, without advertising, if you know what I mean - just a hint to point me in the right direction, thanks.

Sleep well, McB. x

Are you after a topper Wend...or a mattress? x

Wend

Wend Report 13 Feb 2011 20:35

A topper, Muffy. Couldn't part with my mattress - had it for 35 years of marriage - it's got my shape ingrained into it, ha ha x

Muffyxx Report 13 Feb 2011 20:39

LOL...fair enough...we had to get rid of our old mattress cos I was being attacked by rogue springs so I was glad to see the back of it.!!!

I can recommend my mattress VERY highly..its a Tempur one... but I'm' afraid I don't know about toppers...I'll be interested too in any recommendations as I want to get one each for the girls x

Wend Report 13 Feb 2011 20:46

Mind you, Muffy, I've just re-read this thread and maybe it's time we changed our mattress. How much do they cost? But could I bear to part with the old one, I don't know - it's seen a lot of life - waters breaking, breastfeeding my babes, maybe other things that I've forgotten about - you know, the usual happy memories lol! x

When I bought mine i was going through a bit of a *sod it* phase ( i let the plastic do the talking for a while.....like a silly moo....it cost £900 gulps) so I spent way more than I should have done and didn't shop around.

I'm pretty sure you can get them quite reasonably on Ebay now...when my friend was looking for one a while back they were about £300x

Cath2010 Report 13 Feb 2011 20:59

And worth every penny. I wouldn't have any other type of mattress now and recently got pillows too. Fantastic. I've never slept so well. Don't find either pillows or mattress make me too hot.

I don't regret the money I spent on mine either Catherine. I spent years having sleepless nights with back pain...I'd have paid any money to get rid of it x
