Muffy, re Tea slurping. Tell them to drink it from the saucer dear, then tap their elbow .**M**.I hate people who get to the checkout in supermarkets go through then spend ages trying to find their money/credit card.Surely they must know they have to pay for the stuff.

Rambling

Rambling Report 5 Feb 2011 14:18

groups of people who stand blocking supermarket aisles while they chat

ditto the pigeon chasers , especially if they also try to kick the pigeon!

people who walk along with a cigarette facing outwards at thigh level.

women who have tiny children on railway stations who let them play near the edge of the platform.

people using mobile phones...almost anywhere lol...but especially if they do so walking along texting and slowing to a crawl to do so.

Hate being called - Love, Duck, Dear, Darling, Honey etc etc

Find it rude.

Mobile phones - stupid women having a conversation when pushing their child in a pushchair - so they are not looking where they are going

Motown Gal, I'm with you on the one about girls walking 4 abreast especially if it's a narrow pavement. I want to say but I never do of course, "Why take up half a pavement when you can have all of it?" or "Excuse me I want to use this pavement together with the rest of humanity." That's every bit as sarcastic." Of course, it doesn't make me popular, but people like that don't want to be popular otherwise they wouldn't do it.
As regards the supermarket, my pet hate is people who say "Can we go in front of you please, we're in a bit of a hurry," i say "So am i dear."
By the way I am a fan of Motown too.

apologises in advance to Glitter baby , should we ever meet :) I do call people love or sometimes dear, it is habit and my 'excuse' is that I come from the part of the country where its the norm lol and am so used to doing it with family and friends. And I don't mind it myself to be honest :)

thought of another though...people who bitch about me behind my back, I may not like hearing it said to my face but at least I get the opportunity to respond that way lol.

Judith Report 5 Feb 2011 14:27

Yes women steering a pushchair and chatting on a mobile phone get my goat too, or even having a conversation with someone they're with and pushing a pushchair and they don't say sorry when they've tripped you up and just carry on pushing and yacking. Grrr

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 5 Feb 2011 14:28

I also sometimes call people *love*...not meant to be disrespectful...it's just something everyone said around me when I was growing up x

Litterers - especially those who throw things out of car windows.

People who don't put their trollies back in the proper place - or can't be bothered to stack them properly.

Other peoples' mobile phone conversations.

Car drivers who don't indicate.

The 'celebrity' culture.

Cold callers.

Motown Gal - re the girls walking 4 abreast. If I encounter that, I stay where I am until one of them has to move at the last minute. We get loads of foreign students in Bath who walk around like they're glued together!

maggiewinchester Report 5 Feb 2011 15:08

...all of the above.
Also, where cars have to cross a pavement to get in/out of a car park - and presume THEY have right of way over pedestrians on the pavement.

People who drop passengers off by either stopping on a ring road and blocking the traffic or pulling onto the pavement - some even have the cheek to honk at pedestrians who have the audacity to be 'in their way' on the pavement!!

Along with the talking on mobiles -not only women with pushchairs, those who insist on walking back wards & forwards across the pavement - oblivious to others, or texters who walk all over the pavement - and glare at you when they bump into you!

Adult cyclists on the pavement - especially the numpties who ring their bells expecting you to move for them!! (cue for me to stand still - right in the middle)
Kids plugged into their i-tunes, equally unaware of anyone else.

Music in shops. If I am making a major purchase ie a new TV recenty, I insist that it is turned off. I have never yet been refused, I find most shop staff hate it as much as I.
