Rose, I agree wholeheartedy - he is a human - and has all the failings of every other human - but the media hype it all up!

I sometimes feel I want to grab these 'oh so perfect' journalists by the throat and make them tell me why they think they are so perfect that they can comment on others.
Especially things like 'Heat'- show me the journalist that has no 'muffin top', the journalist with the 'perfect' body at 50+ the journalist that has never committed an indiscretion - then I might start reading, even believing this cr*p!!

Since almost every one is saying William will be a better choice than Charles might it not be worth remembering that Charles has been William's sole parent since he was a teenager who'd just lost his mum.... must have done something right to turn out a decent son I reckon...personally.

he may not be good husband material...or made the right choices....but that doesn't make him beyond the pale surely? if it did half the people on here would have to creep away into a corner.... me included!

which is what I shall do before I get really annoyed!

...like father, like son.
I find Charles quite appealing. Not as brusque as his father, his own interests etc - a very 'human' person. Yes he 'commits' the odd faux pas -don't we all - but ours isn't emblazoned over the newspapers.

I believe his marriage to Diana was a marriage of convenience - something William hasn't had to contend with.

If he does have Altzheimers - it's no fault of his. As with every sufferer, we should have sympathy, both for the sufferer and their family.

agree with you Jill - no integrity

Frankly, I'm not surprised that some become a little disrespectful when someone talks / writes about Prince Charles. The man has no integrity and has acted incredibly dishonourably in the past. For such a public figure, with such a future, he should either behave himself impeccably or denounce all right to the throne.

Just my view by the way ...

....I always think it must be nice never to have made any mistakes in life,, never to have screwed up relationships or fallen for Mr Wrong who looked so much like Mr Right at the time.... but anyway...

Aside from the thread being about whether or not Charles has alzheimers ( God help him if he does...as with all who suffer, their families as well) , it's also questioning whether we believe ( or can believe) what we read... whether journalists ( generalisation of course) are now so lacking in integrity that anything is publishable, whether true or not...so long as it 'makes a good read'?

I'm sure it was too Cookie.

He needed the token virgin to provide him with his *heir and a spare*..as soon as he did his *duty* it was *as you were*

Poor girl was only 19...x

**edit*** Edward turned out to be a much better King than many expected from what I have read...so maybe there's a chance for Charles after all...we''ll see....... x

I remember that too, Muffy! i know it was meant to be a private conversation, but it wasn't romantic in any way whatsoever, was it? (Yuk, really)

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 4 Feb 2011 20:39

He's a laughing stock..that whole bugged conversation with Camilla that was published all those years back and the things he said...I can never take him seriously after that !!

I don't like him either Joy and I'd be quite happy for it to pass directly to William.

one way or the other

and i quote

" Camilla exposes his double life"
"Prince Charles is gay, he wed Diana as a cover up. shocking details he's hidden for 30 years...3 male lovers"

from cover of The Globe Sept' 2010.....

Now I don't know about you, but i reckon if he DID wed Diana as an alleged "cover up" he wouldn't have bothered to wed Camilla afterwards? just gone his own sweet way in peace and quiet :))

pure tosh of the "we've all been abducted by aliens at some point "type ;)

Muffyxx

Muffyxx Report 4 Feb 2011 19:04

Well in fairness the abdication was known about in the states long before it was here !!

In this instance though I think I'll take it with a pinch of salt.

The Daily Globe isn't a publication I've ever heard of..and looking at it online it appears to look like a bit of a celeb rag type thingy rather than a serious newspaper x

Rambling Report 4 Feb 2011 17:18

CrumblingCookie...but on that point Diana supported Aids, homeless charities, and campaigned against land mines...so doesn't figure that one has to be personally affected to support the charity?
