More from fb:

Update on ash he's in QE Birmingham has seen plastics surgons, he has a infection in his leg and has a temp of 39.1 so has been put on antibiotics IV. Has got to have X-rays later to see if the tissue expanders are infected if so might put he's surgery forward, which means he'll be at QE for some weeks. I would like to thank all those people for the message we have received wishing ash well, thank you

Ash has been asked to talk to some of the new injured solders that have moved up to ward412 about how he copes with his injures To help them. It should also help him to.

________________

A shame Ash has to face more surgery but good that he will be talking to newly injured lads, will help them see light at the end of the tunnel and keep Ash out of mischief too

All good wishes to him and his bro, and all the lads at QE Birmingham

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 4 Feb 2011 04:05

This is the report that was in their local newspaper, along with the comment by the Meningitis Trust, who are being supportive.

I have added all this to remind people of the symptoms and to give the details of the trust, should anyone else need advice or info, heaven forbid it happens to anyone else we know.

Soldier and brother share hospital ward after contracting meningitis
A SOLDIER hospitalised by meningitis has been joined in the ward by his brother with his whole family needing treatment.

Sapper Ashley Hall, who lost both his legs and suffered other serious injuries in a bomb blast in Afghanistan, has contracted viral meningitis and is on a drip at Colchester General Hospital.

On Monday night he was rushed to hospital. By Tuesday night his 18-year-old brother Matt needed a hospital bed after contracting the illness.

His parents, and siblings Luke and Nathaniel, were also given antibiotics in hospital yesterday to prevent them contracting the illness and being hospitalised.

20-year-old Ashley, a former St Benedict’s College student in Colchester who lives in Stratford St Mary, had complained of headaches, bright lights, stiffness and headaches, which are all signs of meningitis, and 24 hours later Matt had similar symptoms.

However the family have been reassured it is viral meningitis rather than the more deadly bacterial form.

Your Say YourColchesterMeningitisTrust, says...
02/02/11

Everyone at the Meningitis Trust hopes that the brothers get better soon.

The recovery process from viral meningitis can be very slow, so it is important that they both take their time.

We are here to help the brothers and their family; as well as provide information on the disease. Simply call our freephone 24-hour nurse-staffed helpline on 0800 028 18 28, download our free iPhone app at www.meningitisapp.co

Latest fb comments, look how strong these parents are, hope the boys are better today than yesterday and improve more each day.
Love Izzy's names for the enemies, and am so glad they have each other to get through this.

That's your answer Elaine.

From Dad: Sitting here in hospital, wandering back and forwards between rooms making sure our boys are safe and sound, I sometimes wonder why things like this happen, is it to see if the bond between us as a family can be broken or how much more we can take before we break,
·
terry taliban couldn't break us hun, and mingy meningitis isn't going to either, love all my boys to the moon and back. xxx

And why are you not tucked up in bed?
