That sounds like acupuncture to me and it is painless and often very helpful. I had it after a fall where I fell on my coxcyx and it helped quite a bit and can be very soothing. |

Jean from what Joyce described to me it was a 12 inch needle that they were going to touch the nerves to her legs with. I think she would have gone for acupuncture but didn't like the thought of them going into her spinal cord, don't blame her, and she said a lot of others had refused to have it done. |

Is there no end to her troubles of all people for that to happen with the bus. Wish her well from me Liz. I often think of her, I was looking at the photos the other day of all the grandchildren. |

Caz, glad to hear that Joyce got to Liverpool okay. I don't blame her for not wanting to have that treatment, it sounds awful. |

Just been talking to Joyce, she's changed her mind and said it was a six inch needle and they were going to move it about in her spinal cord to touch nerves and she would have told them whereabouts she could feel it in her legs, so it's not as bad as it sounded. She was on a bus to town and said her back was bad after the car made the bus swerve yesterday and she jolted her back. |

Morning Liz...thanks for the update.Poor old Dutch, she does go through it does'nt she. If its accupuncture l would have thought it would help if only temporarily, but then that would mean having it done on a regular basis would'nt it?? can understand why Dutch wants to leave it. |

I thought it sounded as if it was acupuncture Vicky, I wonder if Joyce didn't understand that is what it was. |

Joyce is not having acupuncture. The intention is to put needles in her spinal cord to find and locate the nerves and she has to tell them where she can feel it in her legs or feet. When they know where abouts it is they wanted to operate on her back, I only found the last bit out today. Anyway she has said the same as a lot of other people she is not going to risk it thank you very much. |

Oh that doesn't sound a good thing to do, sounds as if they want to experiment with her, don't blame her refusing. Acupuncture sounded OK. |

I agree with Ann, it sounds as though they want to experiment, but maybe not, whatever it's for, it sounds awful, and I don't blame you for saying a deffinite NO to it. |
