Sue In Yorkshire. Report 27 Jan 2011 22:07

Seemingly this is the 3rd incident with Andy Gray at Sky but the women didn't say anything before.too scared more than likely..

Yes he should have been sacked because if he hadn't been heard talking like he did..it would have carried on to the next victim..

And all it is

It's the Victorian attitude that has to go from men's minds about women.
Some men think that women are easy pickings for either picking on them just because they are women or sexual facours..

Just glad he has gone..

There must be those amongst us 'girls' who, if we are honest, have come across the office groper (who was probably in the shops, factories also) and all that could be done in those days was to try to avoid him.

I can recall in my first job as a junior shorthand-typist, (four flights of stairs up) where a department manager (from two floors above that) used to lie in wait on the stairs around 5.30 when juniors would be running down stairs to catch the Post Room. There was no one to turn to in those days.
Why should anyone be subjected to suggestive talk etc in the workplace?

I agree with Muffy up to a point about being 'snitched on', but I have (nearly) always been VERY careful what I say at work, even in 'banter'. I have no doubt that this man has 'form' - the trouser incident shows which way the wind blows and I would bet that it wasn't an isolated incident. There's no place for such behaviour in the workplace.

"Why shouldn't a Scotsman commentate on ENGLISH football or even the other way round?
As far as I know the game is played in exactly the same way both sides of the border!"

Very true Joan. It's almost like saying the women shouldn't commentate on football games played by men.

Scotland is still part of the UK. Andy actually played for English clubs too so is perfectly qualified to offer an opinion on English clubs.

Also Andy lives in England so do you expect him to uphaul his family and move North if the border?

Muffyxx Report 27 Jan 2011 09:41

I can understand perfectly him having to go because of the trouser incident ..totally go with that...but still maintain that you should be able to have a casual conversation with a colleague without fear of being *snitched* upon if your views aren't to the person who overhears' taste ! x

Now the other one has gone .............................. so much for it all being nothing more than a mole hill !

Shown on 10.00 p.m. news Andy Gray fiddling with his trousers and asking a female employee 'would you like to tuck this in for me?'.

'That deserves a sacking , he has no respect for women' and this last comment came from a man - my OH.

ChrisofWessex Report 25 Jan 2011 20:04

Apparently Andy Gray has not just been sacked for this offence but another on video re a Skye employee last month has surfaced.

Then they'll have to sack all the other 3 involved in it too.

Richard Keys..the reporter that Gray was talking to...and *steve* the camera man who said *he would*.

Ridiculous.

(and I'm no fan of Andy Gray either cos he hates Spurs lol ) x

I agree with Stray - they were silly, but no-one's died and it's been blown up out of all proportion. Evidently the lady in question is a very strong character and can well defend herself - the boys should watch their lunchboxes if she meets them anytime soon!

MarionfromScotland

MarionfromScotland Report 25 Jan 2011 16:01

Answer to your question Muffy no, I havet a clue lol.

I thinks it's gone a bit ott, the whole thing. A lot worse has gone on.

much worse has likely been quoted about say, the mother in law or women drivers, and men that cant sew a button on........or work the washing machine.....

there will always be friction between the opposite sexes about the way they see the other's performance.............

At the risk of being pedantic, there is no "off side rule" in Association Football. We do not have rules, we have the "Laws" of the game.

Personally I hope is a permanent suspendion for Andy Gray, he really is a total plonker and only employed in the role for his "wind-up " value. Furthermore, why on earth have a Scotsman commentating on English football anyway?
