Hoping that Ilonka and her family managed to have some time together for christmas day, I'm sure that during times of quiet reflection they will all endure a miriad of emotions , and have so many questions running through their heads, my best advice will be just take each day as it comes. sure their will be adaptations to be made both to their home and their lifestyle, but they will evolve naturally throughout the recovery period.
Sending much love to the family, especially Dad who must have his hands full with the two youngsters to look after at the moment, but i'm sure they will have great words of wisdom and comfort for him, and plenty of hugs too xxx

Good to hear the news that Ilonka may be home in time for her little lad's birthday, her children have birthdays either side of Christmas, what an expensive time for them!

I am sure that date will urge Ilonka on to recover as well as she can as soon as she can and things will progress from there. She sounds a strong lady to be a captain of a boat so I am sure she can beat this setback and get life back on track very soon.

Have been thinking about her, and you too Joyce.

Hi JP hope you had a nice Christmas

Been thinking about Ilonka, she must be so sad to be missing all their usual Christmas preparations with the family. I hope she will be in less pain now and that her wound heals well so she can get that new leg and get mobile again.

Positive thoughts for her and all her family.

Hope you are ok Joyce, have a nice Christmas, talk to you as soon as I get the opportunity

Love

Morning Joyce, I don't think we have spoken before, but i felt i had to post on this thread, you may have heard about my 20 year old son Ash who was very badly hurt in Afghanistan in July this year, he has lost both his legs above the knee, and his thumb and some fingers on his left hand.
I have read about the awful accident that your relative has suffered, and i just wanted to let you know that despite the awfulness of the situation right now, things will improve, the modern technology that is available now means that amputees can lead an amazing fulfilling life. Things will be difficult, and some days she will feel very upset, but i know that her motherly instinct will help her to get up and about quickly and her children are young enough to be very accepting of their mummys new condition.
Please could you pass on our very best wishes from our whole family, and our wishes for them to remain strong and supportive to one another. May 2011 bring them fortune and happiness.
