My parents were in a head on collision this morning, so I won't be here for a while.
My Dad suffered a broken collarbone and a cracked handed, my Mum has broken ribs broken her thumb and is still in ICU. we'll see but my Dad MIGHT be home tomorrow
Apparently a car came round a corner too fast and lost control, spun a couple for times and my Dad don't have time to react. The police says it not his fault. The car is a complete write off. My sister and I went to get the keys from the car amd I always thought cars were suppose to be safe. There is no front end left, the engine had been pushed towards the driver the right front wheel was where my Dads legs were. He was driving looking at the car the driver should be in bad shape, but he's not relatively speaking
Right now I'm at my sister house, but like my Mum' I want to go home"

Sorry to hear about this Shy, but thankful for them that it was not worse. I am sure they are both also very shocked though, as you are too. Sending you all my positive thoughts and good wishes for a full recovery for both of them.

And I hope the driver who caused it (was he injured by the way) is prosecuted for careless driving or whatever your equivalent is.

Oh RMS I am sorry about your parent's accident. Road traumas happen so quickly and leave so many families with injuries or worse.

It is good to know that your Mum and Dad's injuries are not life threatening. Keep your spirits high and know we are all thinking about you and your family.

Sorry to hear of the accident. Hopefully your parents will both recover quickly and your dad will soon be back behind the wheel, if he is comfortable with the idea of driving.

Now then. You and your sister are to look after yourselves, and don't run yourselves into the ground.

Thanks, Dad is staying in for tonight at least and Mum is looking a little better than she did last night. She was so worried about Dad that they let him see her today and now he is worried about her "she looks awful" well not as awful as last night, she looked twice her age and so fragile, and at 81 that's not good , but she looks her right age now, so an improvement, Their talking of putting her in a care home for a while cause there is no way she can come home for a while yet.

Behind the wheel my Dad is a great driver, he has two speeding tickets because if speed traps and that is it! The mean worry seems to be because the car is gone I have no way of getting anywhere unless someone drives me. On well, I guess I will survive

I'll kept you posted

Hi Shy,

I am sorry to read of this accident and hope your parents will soon be their old selves again. Best for them both to be sure they are well enough before they insist on coming home, shock can come out a few days later sometimes and if they are in hospital or a care home, they can be monitored and treated if necessary on top of the treatment they are needing at the mo.

I assume you mean you used to drive their car sometimes, won't the insurance provide a courtesy car while things are being sorted out? Don't push yourself to do any more than is necessary tho as you and your sister must be shocked too.

It's good news that their injuries aren't worse, and I hope your Dad will have the confidence to continue driving when he is well again and a new car purchased. Hope the insurance claim goes smoothly for you.

Take care,
love
Lizxxx
