I remember another bad winter .I was nursing in Plymouth and had New Years Eve off.My parents always had a big party and I was going to go .But because there was so much snow the were no buses or taxis running and I couldn't get home.I ended up going into work as I didn't fancy sitting in my cold flat all on my tod.I think New years day was 1979.My sister and her first OH almost got to Mum and Dads when their car got stuck in the snow.Janice was almost 9 months pregnant and was pushing the car!!!!.I think they had to abandon it and walk the rest of the way .
I'm just about to start the Ironing AGAIN.Chris has very kindly brought down a load of new shirts that have creased in the packaging, and I have just the last few bits of James's things before they get packed.

Glad you enjoyed your breakfast out Ann.Was it the Full English?

Hi Everyone,

It's beautiful here today. I took the girls to see some Morris Dancers earlier - they were fascinated with the costumes and banging of sticks. As soon as we were back home, they decorated their hair with ribbons and clips and were out in the garden dancing. Fortunately they haven't found any sticks lol.

Frank thanks for the emails today. I loved the 'guide dog' one - made my OH laugh too.

I had a nice surprise today.... A win on the premium bonds..... Only £25 though. Doesn't go far these days does it lol

I haven't seen any Morris Dancers for ages ,they are usually dancing at the coast through the summer .
Catie that was a nice surprise winning some money , would have been even better with a few noughts after it lol

Been to Holsworthy to take the new pressure washer back. They have lent us one while ours is being repaired under warranty. We've only had it two months and it won't go!!!!

Mum had a slice of hovis toast for breakfast and a cup of tea.

So glad your having a good time Sheila and your feeling better.

Happy Anniversary Ann to you & OH.

Catie, sounds as if you & the twins had a great time, I'd have loved to have seen the little ones all with ribbons in their hair dancing, It's nice to hear about them being happy.

Good news, It seems that Daughter no 1 may have got the travel job she wanted she went for an interview this morning and the woman said she thought it was 95% certain that daughter had the job she just had to sort out work shifts so that they were able to fit in with daughters times getting baby sitters (mum and hubby) for Sofia, It looks like I will be needed about twice a week from 4- 7 in the evening when SIL will pick up Sofia on his way home from work.

off to put washing on line sunny but cold.

(")_(") 2nd cake was ok.

Jane .....it was the 'part English' for me. lol I only have egg, beans, tomatoes and brown toast, no butter. I love the rest, but don't eat much fat......I know I will only wear it all around the waist if I do!! lol Sometimes I do nick a small bit of OH's bacon. lol

That's good news for your daughter Fiona especially as it is a job she wanted. I just fetched the washing in.....spitting with rain here.

Jane, daughter was expecting the woman from the travel company to ring her back this afternoon and confirm arrangments about the job. but she didn't , so daughter says she'll have to wait till Monday morning now and then ring the woman, she will need to do it early as if it is all go ahead, then she will have to ring Sain*bur** and tell them she is no longer interested about their job.

Jane I have had the heating on to day as well. it was really chilly this morning when we got up and now the suns gone it's clouded over and it's cold again.
Did all my ironing today, and put away my summer clothes Tops, linen trousers etc. and my sandels, back to shoes but not boots yet , try and wait till it's really freezing before I put them on.
mind you I did get my furry slippers out of the cupboard,

Daughter no 1 just rang to say she has the travel job the woman had just phoned daughter starts next Tuesday from 5pm-9pm.
So we a really pleased SIL thinking of buying another car as there was talk that in the future daughter may have to start work at 5 am at the weekends and work a 12 hour shift, , but thats not for a while yet.

Jane Report 18 Sep 2010 19:26

That's great Fiona.I bet she is really pleased. What will she have to do?
My daughter should be just about to leave Croatia now.Hopefully her flight will be on time.I always get a bit jittery in the old Tum when she flies as she is not really a good flier. She will be hopeless company for her friend as she will just try and sleep. She eats and drinks nothing.I remember when we went to Tokyo, she had nothing at all and I think it was an 11 hour flight !!

Hi David.How are things?

Jane

Jane Report 18 Sep 2010 19:33

I'm hot now lol.I knew I would be .I am going to have to make sure the radiator in the bedroom is OFF when I go upstairs. There is no way I will have a good sleep if the bedroom is too warm.
Tomorrow we are going to London for an Engagement party.I may have already said, but it is the Brother of Rachel who got married in Dubai .It's about time lol.I think he has been with his girlfriend for 8 or 9 years now.I just wish his Mum was still alive to see how well he has done.He works in the Cabinet Office.
Phew I am going to go and take this top off and put something cooler on.I think my face is like a beetroot ,and I'm cooking lol
