Was just going to suggest praying to St Anthony as I am in constant communication with him as I am always losing things. ....glad they have turned up.-Jle

( St Anthony is the patron saint of all things lost, supposed to be souls, but in my case it can cover , keys, phones, etc)

I would have checked the individual clothes before donating, but don't think OH would have done so. He has intentionally lost alot of weight this year. The 'look' may be new, but the brain cells are the same !

SRS
As we are so near to France, we may well have travelled on day trips, but we put off booking holidays until they were found.

Aged In-laws might want to go abroad to escape some of the winter. Now we have the option of travelling with them to help with luggage.

Well ...Guess what OH found amongst a pile of his folded clothes this morning ?????

3 passports !
They've been missing almost exactly a year to the day.

They must have been moved several times within that time, as the pile was wrong size clothes waiting to go to a charity shop.
I didn't ask too many questions.
At least they're found and in date.

Have you got some sort of boiler? Or any other thing to adjust the heating? Perhaps he took passports with him if he was turning your heating back up.

Looking in the bookcase is not a silly idea - I was looking for a notebook - and it had managed to squirm its way behind some books. Obviously when I wasn't watching it - gremlins at work.

Do you have filing cabinets or in with your many many many piles of genealogy research?

Sorry I can't help you look - I would far rather be in Kent than over here as it is so so humid - got fans going everywhere and all the doors open and it is 9.45pm.

Cheers

OH worries about very little. I think he knows from past experience that even if he does look for something, he won't see it.
Usually he'll say "Where did you find that?"
"Exactly where I said it would be"

..so yes, he is sitting back, not too bothered really.
He'll go to bed soon, then I'll have another search downstairs.

Don't you just hate losing things? Is OH searching as frantically as you Gwyn, or is he watching you, knowing you will find it for him?

Have you got a sideboard? tried the drawers, cupboards, kitchen cupboard, freezer (getting desperate now!!!)

Hi Gwyn,
Have you tried a bookcase?
I quite often just 'slip' things on top of the books - mind you he's a man - could be between any of the books - passports - booklike therefore bookcase!

I like your way of thinking, ..Lol
Not in my handbag though.

Please don't worry. I'm sure they're not far away. Things got moved around here alot at Christmas time, so more chance they are somewhere not the 'norm'.
They'll turn up.

Seems like there is an unwritten rule that none of us have learned to live by....never put things in a 'safe place'.

*wonders what safe place I can put OH*

I would make hubby go through all the things he did when you first got home.

What jacket was he wearing? where did he take it off,and where did he put it? Is it in the dashboard of his car?, Boot of same car?

Under the bed, wardrobe, drawers? Bedside cabinet, bathroom cabinet?

Suitcase/lining/hand luggage/wallet/pocket lining/dog's stomach?

Look for something else missing, you usually find what you were looking for last week.

Bring spring cleaning forward, and make hubby help.

Back of radiator/on bookshelves/magazine rack/cd rack/under the telly/the drawer that gathers odds and sods/

Try and think like a man, it can't be difficult they can only think of one thing at a time. Was he dying for a cuppa when you got in? Is it in one of your kitchen cupboards?

You've got me frantic now,I'm off to wash the pots, hope you find it,it can't be far........................ can it????
