Well it's 8:08 pm here, and Heartbeat isn't on til 9, and I obviously didn't finish the work due at 4 (hey, the gu'mint website screwed up, I couldn't submit it ...), and I'm out of cigarettes ... and now I'm all alone.

Sniff. Sleep tight! Er, well. ;)

Sorry Janey!

I've been looking at the marriages instead - wonder how many were double barrelled by the bride and groom ...

Found a Jelly / Bottom and a Jolley / Bottom in the same quarter.

And a Noble / Bottom ...

Meek / Bottom

Senior / Bottom

Enough, enough - I need my sleep!!

Nite all - thank you

I've never been to Drury Lane Janey. The only I notes I made where from Ancestry................I plead I was led astray lol.

Stevie ... I'd have thought you'd find them around Drury Lane, where someone I once suspected of being an ancestor was recorded among a long list of women, with the notation "would not state occupation, rooms rented by the night so no point in returning next day".

I'm sure we did have a thread about silly names before - it may well have been me that started it too!

Mind like a drain. Same old problem all my life!

Bob - you're lowering the tone young man. If you'd been saddled with a name like Mocock you wouldn't make jokes about it. And they are a pain to research at times!

LOL

There've been several. ;)

My fave *real* one is still Nimrod Squelch!

Marriages Dec 1843
Squelch Nimrod Reading 6 426

He must've been immortal. That's the only record of him.

Found him!

NIMROD SQUELCH
Christening: 30 MAY 1824 Chiddingfold, Surrey, England
Father: JOHN SQUELCH

I guess John and Mary decided something fancier was needed.
