I am fine using Google Chrome but if I log on via AOL GR chucks me off frequently. Just how many times would GR like to me log in?

I've just sent my fifth message (each quoting all the rest), with the url for this thread.

Nooooo. We haven't had any complaints ...

JaneyCanuck Report 24 Aug 2009 17:57

Well, I've sent them the url for this thread, so they can * well read it for their answers.

I'm using Firefox. Others here have said what their browsers are. I think we pretty much cover the entire spectrum.

Obviously, everything else in the world isnt working, but GenesReunited is all right, Jack.

Actually, everything else in the world is working just dandy for me.

Oh and hey, I'm please to see some people getting replies! I always knew I was chopped liver.

I had problems during the night and had to sign in again a few times, it was so annoying to lose posts so didn't get round to answering much.

Get it sorted GR

Have just e-mailed Genes to complain, and told them that I am aware that others have also complained.

AnninGlos Report 24 Aug 2009 21:25

It does seem to be better now, do you think they have fixed whatever it was and are not admitting to anything?

Joy

Joy Report 24 Aug 2009 21:54

Yesterday, I had to sign in several times although I had already signed in; I had no threads; today there was service unavailable.

I don't think they should try to recreate the problem, they should just believe what has been reported to them.

Morning all.... well, I have had a reply... the only problem addressed was my difficulty accessing my tree, or trees I have permissions for... all the rest was ignored... and I was told to pres F something or other and clear my cache... if that doesn't sort the problem, to send them my Internet Browser and system type details... now, I use IE or Opera.... got a Trojan and some viruses a couple of days ago, and so have given my system a good old clean up.... deleted Opera and other programmes cos that had two viruses that I didn't have a clue how to isolate... hubby then had a tidy up... so my caches are clean thank you very much... and every other programme I am using is running smoothly with no hitches... as is GR this morning, so far fingers X.

Now....... I also asked them if they would be so kind as to inform us if there was site maintenance going on, as this would at least let us know and be prepared for glitches! No response to that at all!!

Oh well, at least they didn't suggest that I was a Lone Complainer, lolol

Love

I guess they're just too scared to reply to my five emails ... of increasing intensity and font size ...

Charming, isn't it? No response at all, here.

It does seem to be OK so far this morning doesn't it?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 25 Aug 2009 14:14

Has it gone 'off' again?

Whoo hooo. I'm in again. I've just had communication with GR which mirrors all that you lot are saying here. I asked them to look at posts I had put on another thread. They replied they had not had any other complaints.

It is probably the fault of all the Aussies. Payback for taking our Ashes off us!!

If I click the submit button, go to a blank screen, and then be politely signed out again I am going to bed and leaving you lot to it.

Edit: I still here. It worked. Now I need to go see what havoc I can wreak with this Firefox thingy. Needs some lessons in just who is going to correct the spelling for starters.

AnninGlos Report 25 Aug 2009 14:54

I have just tried to send another message and it just would not send so i have resorted to an ordinary e mail now.

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 25 Aug 2009 14:57

Ha, Don't be fooled by that trick. It will send it and keep sending it each time you click submit. Just does it in its own good time. Actually for about the last ten minutes it has been really good, behaving itself, and fast.

Someone must have found the on switch.

Dear Diary ...

How very courteous of you to reply to my messages. (This is where the little "dripping sarcasm" icon goes.)

I understand that paying customers at this website who have submitted reports of the malfunctions -- that are continuing as I speak -- are still being informed that no other complaints have been received.

How can you sit there with your bare faces hanging out and tell even one customer that lie -- when obviously one of the first two to be told it is the SECOND person to submit a complaint?

The site is not working.

FIX IT.

Sue

Sue Report 25 Aug 2009 15:11

I can only get on via GR NZ now.

Really efficient service for all their paying members.

GR sort yourselves out.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 25 Aug 2009 15:16

My e mail asked them to come on here and tell us the customers what is going on and that when we pay for a service we expect to receive it - or words to that effect.

Jean (Monmouth)

Jean (Monmouth) Report 25 Aug 2009 19:05

The reply I got was to the effect that there was an unprecedented amount of traffic on the site at the moment. All sitting there cussing I dont doubt! Little better today.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 25 Aug 2009 20:38

Yes |I got the traffic remark, don't see how when half the time you can't even access it. I know that the traffic increases when WDYTYA is on but this has been ridiculous, nothing to do with the number of people using it. How do they think Ancestry copes. If the amount of people using it causes the site to lock up then why are they taking our money? It obviously is not fit for the job.
