My lovely old boy cat is having to be put to sleep tomorrow morning. Trying not to think about it too deeply for the mo as I don't want to bottle it .......I KNOW it's the best for him.......just makes me feel ill at the thought of not seeing his daft face again after tomorrow :0( |

It's not easy is it? I still miss all of mine and yes, I said "no more" but that didn't work either. Why do we put ourselves through this? |

Its a hard decision to make but the most kindest thing to do when that time comes. They are part of the family and its upsetting when we loose any animal however big or small. Think of all the happy times.... |

All I can say to you, Muffy , (having been there myself) is to stay strong and remember what's best for him. |

It's a hard decision to make, Muffy. You do know though that's it's a reward that you give a pet - letting them go with dignity. He deserves that after all the joy he's given you. |

Thinking of you this morning Muffy, I said no more cats a few years ago (12 July 2005) when I lost one of my old boys - after 6 months of an empty house though I was down the cats home for one and then the vet told me about another and now have four 'second hand' ones. |

I know exactly how you feel, our l6 year old cat had to be put to sleep a couple of years ago, but he was not well, and it was the kindest thing. We had him ( and his sister who had died before him) cremated, and their ashes are sprinkled in the garden. |
