The problem as I see it about, always looking for the good in folk, is that inevitably you will be let down - not with everyone, but with some people.

Some folks will never come up to your expectations (as of course, we ourselves do not always meet the expectations of those we know/meet).

It's not negativity, it's realism: but initially we must surely look for the good side of everyone, because we truely wouldnt want to face evil head-on. How on earth would we cope with that?

Sally I know someone who is a likeable person who gets on with most people but we just don't click and I don't know why. I think she probably doesn't know either. When we are with mutual friends we talk politely and pleasantly but we aren't friendly. I think it just happens.

Has she paid up then Lynda? Make sure she pays you cash up front...... (oh my god, I am turning negative.....not to trust Sue maid who has paid for all our expenses to Australia (hence the bouncing cheque))

I am not sure that I look specifically for either; but I do take people at face value initially.

PS what was with the peas?

Thank you Lesley 'cos I think people have forgotten the all expenses paid trips - the limo, the show tickets, the dinners in fancy restaurants.

I dont tend to look for either.

everyone has a good and bad side to their nature.
someone can treat another bad,but be equally as good or better to someone else.

You posted a thread about peas?

We all have instincts when it comes to people, they are ancient senses and we should use them.
I find that the impression I get as soon as I meet someone is always the right one.
When I was younger I used to ignore it but always in the end my initial instinct was right.
Lynda is quite right about other peoples behaviour too.
I have tried so hard to teach the kids that how people behave in general cant be ignored,no matter how you think they are treating you
For example you meet a man he treats you beautifully buys you flowers but when you go out to dinner he talks to the wait staff like c*** wake up and smell the roses, those are the true colours.

Oh to Gwen lol I thought you meant on here lol

Oh Gwen posted a thread on peas originally, I don't think she likes them lol

I posted a youtube link for her which contained a little song about peas (theme tune I think) I thought she may have liked it.

Now I know that I should have pm'd it. However, I couldn't see anything in the T&C though. Was I very naughty?

Quoting Lynda *I find my first impressions are usually right Libby, I'm rarely wrong, even if I change my mind about them, something often happens, that proves my first impression was right*

I would say they are my exact thoughts about people I meet in real life.

Yes, Lynda, I remember Sue Maid inviting people over to Oz, too, and I was one who accepted. Is it still on, Sue Maid? lol

I'm always happy to meet anyone new and I only see the good side of them at our first meeting. On rare occasions, I have had a 'creepy' feeling about someone and I chastise myself but I usually find out later that there is a reason for that feeling. Can't remember that I have ever been wrong with that.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 27 May 2009 04:38

No Meri - it's not still on. I think you're all taking advantage of me and my wonderfully generous nature.
