I think the ones that I've been overdosed with have backfired - recent events seem to bear that out :-)

Life's never been as good!

So no, I wouldn't give it a second thought. It's all total garbage.

yep, some people believe in curses and suchlike.

I spit on them! Curse away! Do your worst! Strangle your newts and disembowel your toads! Boil your bats and simmer your henblane! Stew your hair clippings and stir your cauldrons!

That should just about do it, I think, lol.

Off to put the lottery on.

Absolutely not -

BUT (just in case) - wrap a dead cockerel in streaky bacon, soak it in May dew, bury beneath a horse chestnut tree at midnight, turn round 3 times anti-clockwise whilst singing 'I'm a Lumberjack' and you should be fine :-)))

A hex is something that, like any other mean, nasty thing that is said to us, can worm its way into the subconscious, and start doing a lot of damage. There are far too many people posting on these boards (albeit a minority) who have done more to 'hex' another than any 'witch' in christendom!!!

People don't know what damage they can do with only a few cruel words. (Or, horrifically, perhaps they do!) Good job there are many who know how to take no notice, for that is the only way for all of us to go.

I would treat it the same way as I treat chain letters/e-mails - ignore/delete cos it's a load of old cack

The only time I lost sleep over a Hex was when the little B*tch snored!! LOL
Daughter had a GSD/collie cross called Hex (for short) - softest most lovely dog ever.
Mind you, she terrified the 'lowest common denominator' where we lived - because she did as she was told - and they didn't know what we were going to tell her to do!!

*blushes* I put this post on the wrong thread...... so now I've found the proper thread, I am living rebelliously and double posting, lol!!

I don't believe in hexing at all.... but for someone who does it can be horrendous. Someone I know does, his early years were spent in a culture which believed it. When he thought he was being hexed many years ago, it stressed him out so much that he became depressed, his immune system went down, and he caught everything that was going. It took ages to convince him that it couldn't have an effect if he didn't let it.... and 17 years later, he still occasionally worries about it.

So ANYONE who tries to *hex* someone or wish any ill to befall another person, knowing the effect it can have on some people, is evil. No other word to describe it... To even want to wish another human being that kind of distress is far beyond contempt. And I don't believe mental illness comes into it.... it is a deliberate action, so has aforethought... that is not illness, that is pure evil.

Oh well.... love and happy thoughts for everyone...... far, far better than hexing any day of the week.

Loads of love

Hi Daff,
Totally agree - if you were brought up in a culture where such things were believed, it's very difficult not to believe - I believe it applies to much more than Black magic and 'hexing' though.
Any culture where there is an 'unknown' or 'superior' element that rules can cause terrible problems.
I believe when Marx said 'religion is the opiate of the people', he wasn't just referring to religion as we know it in the west - he was referring to the 'unknown' being in control - be it a god. 'Papa doc ' or some other insecure dictator!

Well said Daff ................I don't think mental illness comes into it either.

Saving reams of information and planning what to use and when are the actions of someone who has planned how and when to hurt very carefully, not deranged ravings but premeditated malice.
