Yep..........totally agree Lee.

I've had a poorly back for the last fortnight and the fact that OH has taken over the school run where he can and also banned me from hoovering and doing anything that could make it worse means more to me than a bunch of flowers.........even a huge bouquet of flowers.

It's actions that count ultimately imho xx

i have decided to hold an ANTI-valentines this year. am going to sit at home alone with a ready meal in my oldest and most dusgusting pjs, with a bowl of ice cream and a film all by myself!

i think valentines is a silly idea, why spend money to say i love you- it's the little things that count. :D

I remember being caught out Kay lol. I am not Norfolk born, so wasn't aware that in certain parts Valentin'es day is not about romance but this guy Jack!! My son made me feel like the worst mum in the world when he came home from school and angrily declared...........................do you know I'm the only kid who didn't get a present from Jack Valentine!!
I actually thought he was being victimised lol - it took me some time to realise who Jack was!!

Ive been reading this thread with interest,as when we were children..Jack Valentine always visited...he knocked on the door and left pressies...just small ones.I think this is unique to some parts of Norfolk. It has been going on for years(he used to come to my mum,who is 83 this year)but I do wonder how long it will be before the tradition runs out.

No don't do Valentines... not as though I have one anyway lol.

See Asda were doing a bunch of red roses for £2. Woman on the telly said she'd be insulted if her husband gave her those.
Isn't that just pathetic... as if you can measure love by the amount of money spent.

Jean.

Me & OH dont do valentines day either, we think it is a rip off. We don't need a special day to show that we love each other, as we say it every day to each other, and leave messages round the house etc...(my messages are usually, "can you leave me a tenner")....

nope sorry, but think it is a commercial, rip off....
