Condolences to your freind and her family at this terrible sad time.She is very lucky to have a friend like you.

Having lost my own dear Mum and Dad within 4 months of each other I can imagine how she feels.

Thanks everyone . M y friend says they won`t keep funeral back -it would be too hard for her. She doesn`t think her sister will come at all now., Ros xx

Ros, shame that something can't be sorted for her sister to come, can't they move the funeral date to accommodate her coming over, we had to wait more than three weeks for my friend's funeral in September so her brother could come over from Australia. Surely that would be the kindest thing for her sister, so she can be with them and say her last goodbyes to her Mum.

I know what you mean about the house, we had the same situation with my parents when Mum died, Dad had been gone five years and Mum was still in the house we moved into, brand new, when I was only 2. Mum and Dad wouldn't entertain the idea of a mortgage as they didn't agree with getting into debt, but what a silly way to think, it would have given the two grandsons a nest egg if nothing else, instead of all the years of paying rent and looking after the property gone to waste.

I don`t think that she will make the funeral as first flights are 15th Dec..
Isn`t it a shame when tenants don`t buy their Council houses if they can afford it? Lilian`s parents got as far as signing up in Solicitors and changed their mind. My MIL is the same -she`s been in hers for all her life and her parents couldn`t afford £500 to buy at the time.

Hope Lilian's sister can get her travel sorted out,thats is the last thing they need.

Her sister can`t get a flight home from New Zealand , the travel agent has tried for 2 hours to get her something but can only get half way .Funeral is on Friday and then we are helping clear the house on Saturday , Ros xx

Your friend will be glad of your support now, I hope her sister will not be too upset at being unable to say goodbye to her Mum and that they can still enjoy the holiday together next year.

She passed away at 9 this morning , just got a call. It`s awful -both parents within 9 months gone , Ros xx

Ros, I am sure your friend is glad to have your support, I am sure she will need you again altho I know you will be working again soon.

I hope your friend doesn't make herself ill, she must take a little rest if she can.

phoned hospital and spoke to my friend and asked her if she wanted me to come to the hospital again , but her daughter is there, Ros xxx
