Dear Ann

I hardly ever come on this board but was a bit bored tonight. Your post stood out to me at once.

There is nothing I can say about such a tragedy that will help the young mum or your sister (or you), only that she was clearly wanting to protect the little chap, and all credit to her for that.

My thoughts are with you.

How many other of us mums have slept with our babies at some point? I know being honest I did several times when I was feeding my their bottle during the night.

What a tragedy for any parent, but for one so young it is so much so.

Ann, I am so sorry to read this, I feel very sad for that young Mum who only wanted to care for her son and did her best. May he rest in peace, he will always stay in the hearts of all who loved him.
I used to have my son in bed with me sometimes when he was small as he didn't sleep well and I used to be so tired, there but for the grace of God go I or many of us here, I expect.
Your greatniece will need a lot of support, love and probably counselling to help her through this - my heart goes out to her and all the little boy's family, you too, love.

Whilst I feel totally saddened by this tragic news of the loss of one so young and the anguish his mum must be going through...I also feel very cross that some folk on GR spend all their time bickering over trivial matters whilst when you read threads such as this one you realise just what some people are actually going through

I thought you would like to know that I copied your thoughts to my sister and she said how much she appreciated them and thank you. The baby's Mum has also got a younger half sister (7 years old) who lives with her Dad, she hasn't been told yet, she is going to be devastated.
