ok i am doing a drug round

i ask patient

'would you like any painkillers'

he responds

' i am not a dr, have i been given any painkillers before?'

a bit perplexed by this response i try another tact

'do you have any pain?'

patient 'no'

me 'ok, well if you do let me know and i will givve you something for that'

patient ' well i usually have some painkillers about now cos my hip does play up'

me ' ok so would you like some painkillers'

patient 'yes please'

i give up i really do

Why weren't you around dishing out painkillers last week when that b****y tooth was giving me gip again.
To late now dentist took it out on Wednesday

well he had headphones on at time listening to the tv

they dont take them off when we go round

i have to ask them to remove the headphones/tv/get off phone so that i can treat them

I have never had any interest in taking drugs but I did have to have a pre-med once.I didn't half enjoy it,wouldn't mind having another.

visiting times are 2pm til 8pm

it is broadcast all over hosp

leaflets are given to patients rellies on admission

11am

visitor 'can i see mrs x'

me 'sorry not at the moment consultant is doing his ward rounds'

visitor ' well how long is he going to be? cos i have travelled all the way from x '(about 12 miles)

me ' well visiting isnt until 2pm as consultants have ward rounds and nurses have to give treatment'

visitor ' it is no wonder the NHS has such a bad name'

me speechless again

lol Bev, years ago I was in hospital with a kidney stone but as nothing was happening (in between the excrutiating pain), I rolled up my pyjama legs, put my coat on and popped in home to get a book. Nobody missed me! BC XX

emergancy bells are ringing, nurses, drs are running into ward

crash trolley is being rushed to a patients side, it was obvious to any one that that something serious was going on

i was grabbed (literally) by a visitor who demanded to know when did the shopping trolley come round cos we had failed to supply her rellie with soap!!!!!!!!
