Morning Bev. I don't think it's much to do with blogs and people being scared to post, I just think it's going through a bit of a boring phase again.

I believe the only way to go forward is to have a fresh start and not mention other sites or blogs on here.

The same goes for arguments from months and
months ago..............let them stay in the past where they belong.

I understand the hurt and anger they cause, not to mention the pleasure the blogger gets out of it, but if you keep picking at a scab it will never heal................time for a new start maybe?

I think in one instance someone who was famed for posting so called original and interesting things (to some) has proved Gr made the right call in "Culling" them.

Shame they continue to show their truest colours by still crudely berating and belittling posters on GR, making people feel uncomfortable posting..& its even sadder that some people still support them, and their actions, and still feel the person was hard done by despite the majority now knowing otherwise.

Back to the original question.

I feel the boards are more sterile, people dont like their every word to be scrutinised and run down. Even what can be classed as a run of the mill thread, talking about run of the mill things, a thread which hurts no one and is posted by someone who doesnt get involved in anything nasty gets attacked and threats are made..

I feel uncomfortable, knowing I'm being watched when I post on here...but I will continue to post & not let someones anti social behavior destroy that.

There's talk of stalkers, those who follow you round when you dont always realise it causing upset and hurt, and this is who has really spoilt this board and community at this point in time..

Its really up to everyone to turn this round and make the boards a happier place to post.

Morning Daff,
And i agree with you (of course!!!). If we sit back and let the boards die we have nobody to blame but ourselves. So let's get going with some more lively debates and some fun threads (I don't mean more A-Zs....please not).

Going out in a mo to fetch papers, then have a load of apple chutney to make (penalties of having an apple tree Lol!! But I will then try and put my words into action.

I am sterile now, lol, in more ways than one.

Bev, my advice, if asked for it, would be...... if you find the boards flat and uninteresting, or sterile... then liven it up! Put up threads which debate, make people laugh etc.

We have to make our own fun sometimes and not expect others to keep us amused and entertained.

Love

Daff xxxx

And back to the original topic. yes the boards are slow, I wouldn't say sterile because there were some interesting threads yesterday, but definitely slow because of fewer people posting. shame, but they will recover. And there is impressive support on here still for those of our members who are missing through illness and any others who are on here and poorly.
It is still a good meeting place.

Back to blood groups (and don't you two (Susan with numbers and SueM) ever go to bed???

I last had notification of my blood group in 1961, but, unless someone has siphoned all mine off and replaced it I assume it is still the same! ARH neg. And neither of my kids knows what their is. and I don't know what my parents were either. Think OH is O+

OMG... how can I be sure that what I'm finding out from the extracted info on IGI is right? I know I need to look at original parish records but when all it gives is "William Belcher 26 DEC 1714 West Hanney, Berkshire, England, Father: Will Belcher" How can I be sure that it's the same William Belcher that is the father of William Bap 1738 in West Hanney?

Because this is looking too good to be true! LOL
