Guinevere Report 23 Oct 2008 09:32

Some people on here I've known for five years or more and I have met many of them.

I trust them implicitly.

I've been very lucky in my choice of friends in the cyberworld and none of them have disappointed me or let me down.

I know that not many can say that and I have been shocked/upset/disappointed by lots of stuff that has happened and I count my blessings.

I don’t think that you can even trust meeting people and can always count on your instincts, as I have found out.

well I trust everyone I have met in person off these boards and that includes Tina, Daff, Claire, Jax, Star, Lorraine [Puss] and Maddie - hope I've not left anyone out there!!! I have trusted someone on here, even felt so sorry for them and gave my home phone number and email to I could give support if needed - then I discovered I'd been conned!!! Never too old to learn are you

I tend to trust people on these boards unless they show themselves to be unscrupulous, horrid or whatever. I assume that most people are OK - and I am sure that most are!

p.s. I'm not weird by the way - but a bit mad around the edges - LOL.

Ros,

If it's what was in the pm don't worry about it please. Just get on with posting and ignore any outside references.

The best thing you can do is follow your instincts if your instincts are normally good. I don't think I've ever been let down by mine in the cyber world and people are mostly what I expect them to be. But then I don't trust many of the people from here that I haven't met - I can think of four off the top of my head.

But then it depends also on what sense you mean by trustworthy - do you mean to be the people you expect them to be or do you mean trusting them with secrets or private stuff?

Ros - think you have asked a question to which there isn't a clear cut answer.

Hope whatever caused the question isn't causing you too much grief - or do you want me to beat someone up for you (as a firey redhead of course, lol).

Just want to add my thanks to Jax and TOR for being honest and civil.

I think that now there have been so many meets, if you meet and get to know somebody, you then trust them and trust their instincts too, so if they also go to different meets they can pass on their trust of people in the way you see them react. Can't quite put it into words but i have met quite a lot of people and haven't yet met one I didn't like or wouldn't trust personally.

I too have developed a sort of instinct for people when they post as to whether they appear sincere or not. I have not been proved wrong yet.

I do like to take people on trust, it is sad when we can't.

I don't like to think badly of anyone, but can tell when someone is insincere and that gets my back up. Sugar sweet one minute and stabbing backs the next is horrible behaviour in this world and the real one.

As long as someone is upfront and honest, I trust them, I might not always agree with them, but respect their point of view:))

*gives TOR and Jax a star sticker each*
