Morning all.... I would hate to be allergic to nuts.... I love them, am married to one... and I am one, lol

I am anaphylactically allergic to Salicylate and all derivatives. So aspirin, Ibufrufen and Nsaid painkillers are a no-no as far as I am concerned, which is a bummer if you have RA, lol

But... it means that I am also sensitive to many things... benzyl salicylate is also in many fruits, wine (yep, that is why I get real poorly when I have any, lol) and is also an ingredient used in cosmetics, soap powders, fabric conditioners etc.

This is why my career as a page 3 model went... well you know the expression... I just couldn't wear the slap ;¬))

I have every sympathy with all of you... and Eldrick... ((((((((((hugs))))))))))) and mwah for you.

Hayley... I have a recipe for nut loaf somewhere???

Love

Daff xxx

I went into anaphylactic shock 2 years ago at a friends wedding.

I've been tested for all sorts of allergies and we *think* it's asparagus....

I carry my epipen with me at all times, though it's never happened again, mind you, I'm much more aware of what I'm eating etc now.

I carry one in my pocket as well, mags.

I never handle nuts without gloves on, as I suspect the poison or whatever it is called may be transferable.

Suppose it would be like chopping up chillis then rubbing your eyes - or whatever.

How come every other person who posts that they have a strangulated pelvic sprocket gets loads of sympathy, hugs, prayers, kisses, positive thoughts and probably a donation towards some flowers, and I get recipes for the very things that are going to kill me.
