Sandra, that was cute lol! Glad his mate got in and hope he didn't have to pay too much.

Hope they all have a great time and safe journeys home.

My son usually says 'love you' at the end of each call to me, as I do to him, so if any of you ring me and I say that, you will know where it comes from lol I do feel great affection for lots of my friends I have on these boards lol and sometimes I say love you as I say Bye, without thinking. I am dreading coming out with it at the end of an official type call lol

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 23 Aug 2008 16:11

Thanks everyone. Maz, I don't have to do the washing, he has his own flat and washing machine lol

That's why he is always so short of money, bless him, rent, council tax and all the bills that go with living independently which he wanted from the time he was 18, he couldn't cope with me nagging. He is the most untidy person I have ever met, bless him, and as much as I have tidied and cleaned for him in the past, just can't keep on top of it. I hope he will find a houseproud partner to sort him out lol

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 24 Aug 2008 01:53

Ah, thanks Caz, he has had to struggle all his life, as I did when he was young, and still do.
To see how easy some young people have things, upsets me but he has learned good values so I shouldn't be concerned.
He was out on Thursday evening, and said he found a phone. He could have kept it and sold it, and would have made about £80 on it he said, but he took it in to the office of the venue. Later on, he cut his hand on some glass, then had all the problem with the ticket etc - he said, Mum, I thought I deserved some good luck from being honest, why did I bother?
Bless!

Anyone know what the weather is like in Reading? Hope it is staying dry for him and all there.

we can be deprived of material things,
we can be deprived of monetary things,
but it is only when we are deprived of love are we really deprived of everything,
Good on you Liz, for bringing up a wonderfully rounded and well balanced young man. Love can overcome anything.

Bog off Sylvia !!

Hi Betty, thanks hon. He makes me very proud, he can cope with most situations and is a real worker, does two jobs to get himself sorted out. He has loads of friends of both sexes and all ages, and his two best mates are lads he grew up with from the age of 3 or 4.
Never brought trouble home and we are very close.
I am very lucky.

Thanks Linda, have been wondering what the weather was like.
He did get some wellies to take with him lol

Trying to stop myself phoning to see if he is ok - 26 fgs and I still worry over him! I know he said his phone battery was low altho he has probably charged it up somehow now

I am sure he will enjoy himself anyway, he is with about half a dozen good mates so they should have a ball.
They will be returning home tomorrow evening I think, good thing he has Tuesday off, well I think he does anyway!

Thanks Linda, glad the weather has improved and should be good Monday. Nothing worse than trying to pack up a soggy tent. Knowing him and his mates, it will probably be more than a few drinks lol but at least he doesn't do drugs, never has as far as I know, well apart from the odd joint but he isn't into that, altho his ex smokes them frequently even with her young son in the house.
I rang him around teatime and he answered his phone, the noise was immense and he yelled, Call you later, love you, and clicked off. Needless to say, the call didn't come lol but as long as he is enjoying himself and has a safe journey home I am happy.

He doesn't have any more holiday to take for this year and no money to spare, anyway

thanks for all the good wishes for him, your positive thoughts worked as usual!

Sandra S Report 25 Aug 2008 14:11

Hi Liz

Hope your son had a great time.

Mine arrived home about an hour ago, filthy dirty and absolutly stinking of firesmoke (apparently people were burning their tents)

I made him unravel his socks - I wasn't going anywhere near! and his rolled up sleeves and trouser legs, then made him put all his clothes straight in the washing machine.

His is now in the bath, after having great delight showing me his filthy feet and toenails, as apparently yesterday he couldn't find his trainers so had to wear carrier bags tied to his feet all day!!!

- he found his trainers this morning under his sleeping bag!

He also has one fluresent orange eyebrow, and a fluresent green left ear!! 19 year olds eh, who'd have 'em!

- I hope for his sakes it will wash off, as he has work tomorrow, he is the assistant manager of our local Clinton Cards.

His friend did manage to get another ticket, luckily a lad from Putney brought a spare ticket with him knowing he could sell it at the gate. Son's friend was in the right place at the right time, and paid £250 for it.

Am back again, lol. Thanks for weather updates Linda, hope he gets everything packed up ok and a safe ride back to Norwich. Will ring him in a mo.

Sandra, glad your lad got home safely and his mate got a ticket too. As you say, right place, right time, my lad had a bit more hassle getting his ticket but will teach him to plan a bit differently and start saving for next year lol

Hope the orange and green come off ok
Years ago my son got a bit worse for wear one night at a party, he had a job interview the next day. His mates thought it would be funny to shave off one of my lad's eyebrows while he was asleep on the sofa lol He had to attend the interview looking lopsided lol

Will let you know when I hear from him he is home safe, and thanks for all your messages.

Julie-Ann, have you never noticed the times of my postings before lol

Can't always get on here in the day but usually on from around midnight to 5 or even 6 am! Better than trying to sleep next to snorer o.h.
Linda has my measure lol, I disturb the order of threads cos I like to have my say on what's gone on earlier lol

Lizxxx

Isn't it ridiculous that so many people have more money than sense! At the Chelmsford festival people just upped and left tents behind, and this time they are burning them rather than take them home?
At Chelmsford the authorities said they were claiming the tents if they were in good condition to pass on to charities so this could have been done at Reading too, why burn things? Tents aren't that cheap sometimes, despite the bargain ones, so seems a waste to me.

Sandra, it sounds like your son had a whale of a time, and that is how it should be......after all it will all come out in the wash.....lol...
