I had just got in the bath when I heard the by now familiar roar, but they went off in a different direction so couldn't see them.

Where's Scampton? and where are they moving to Dove?

Liz, Scampton is just outside Lincoln, north, on the A15. As I mentioned, they are about 5 miles or so from my home (less as the crow flies, or shoud that be Arrows fly?)
The last roumor I heard had them moving to Waddington which is the other side of Lincoln.
I must be pretty close to Dove when I am home.

Wheee, they came over again a little while ago and circled the field, must be their stop off point from Lincolnshire then or they must love the food at Norwich Airport, not much else to like there lol

Got a mini video of them circling and then coming down one by one till they seemed to skim the trees at the edge of my viewline and disappear.

I emailed them after my 60th birthday last year and said how thrilled I was with 'my flypast' (after the Lowestoft airshow) and did it again this year, so maybe they know I like seeing them and pick out our field to show off over lol
Not seen them before last year over this way.

Sally, my tummy went all wobbly (don't say a word you lot lol) when I heard them in the distance, had camera ready just in case cos I knew they were off to Clacton again same as yesterday.

Abegele, N. Wales on Saturday, Dunsfold, Surrey on Sunday and Hoylake, Mersey side on Monday.

In Bournemouth, There is going to be a huge Air Display put on over 4 days next weekend for any of those interested.

There will be the Red Arrows, Vulcan, Eurofighter Typhoon? Falcons and Lancaster.
There is information about it on "More Buses" of Bournemouth website.

We have just come back from the Clacton Air Show as we were staying with youngest daughter who had a baby boy last sat.
The weather was good (yesterday) and the other 2 grandchildren aged 5 and 6 loved every second. So glad that we didnt miss it this year.
Hope all who get to a see any air show enjoy as much as we all did.

I've been a supporter of the Vulcan project for a couple of years, the trust has done a great job in getting it back in the air, just needs the sponsorship to guarantee its future, but in the present economic climate its hard to get companies to commit themselves.

I've wondered why the Imperial War Museum hasn't been more interested.

My photos and especially the mini video I took came out quite well, shame they didn't do any formation flying but got some good pics of them circling and then descending to be ready to land.

RedArrows2012 -epetition response
We received a petition asking:

“We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to allow the Red Arrows to Fly at the 2012 Olympics.”

Details of Petition:

“The Department of Culture, Media and Sport have deemed the RAF Red Arrows as Unsuitable for the 2012 Olympics because they are too British. This is a ridiculous decision and should be overturned in the name of common sense.”

We’re glad to tell you there is absolutely no truth - and never has been - in the idea that the Government has banned the Red Arrows from the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The Prime Minister was delighted to see the role the Red Arrows played in the celebrations on the Mall after the Beijing Games, and they have always played a significant part in great festivals of celebration in Britain in recent years. Indeed, the Red Arrows played a memorable role when they flew over Trafalgar Square in 2005 to mark London winning the Games.

Decisions on the nature of the Olympic opening ceremony are a matter for the 2012 organising committee, and with four years to go, they have not made their decisions yet. However, the Prime Minister has made clear he would be delighted to see the Red Arrows perform in the celebrations in 2012.

We asked Tessa Jowell, the Olympics Minister, to pass on her comments as well:

She said:

“I am delighted that so many people have shown how important the Red Arrows are to them by signing this petition. To their millions of fans, the Red Arrows demonstrate all the best elements of being British of which we are so rightly proud. As we have made clear on many occasions, it is just not true that the Government has in some way banned the Red Arrows from being involved in 2012. Nothing, in fact, could be further from the truth.

The Red Arrows flew over London the day we won the Games in 2005 - and they took to the skies again in August, on another special day for London 2012, as we marked the end of the Beijing Olympics and the start of the run-up to our Games. I know Gordon was as delighted as I was that the Red Arrows were able to play such a prominent role, a fitting end to an Olympics that had been such a triumph for Great Britain. While it is up to the 2012 Organising Committee to decide what form the ceremonies in 2012 should take and who should participate, I am very clear in my own mind that the Red Arrows should be part of London’s welcome to the world in four years time. And I know Seb Coe shares my view.”

Hi Liz, I also had that email today and was going to post it but i see you have already done so.
I first saw them perform in the 70's at halfpenny green airshows. We lived in Cyprus for 2 years (80/82) and they always go out there March/ April time to fine tune the new routine for the year. Actually had the chance to meet them at a seminar they held at Raf Akrotiri. They were brilliant. They used to practise twice a day over the sea, which was a mile from our flat.
Haven't seen the display this year due to the fact that Fairford was cancelled.

Mac is lucky, he will see them at the Malta Airshow as they are there two days in a row.
You can go on their site and see where they are supposed to be when, but not much booked now.

We are currently trying to put in some under-floor insulation. The penguins in the ad make it look so easy. Not that I believe everything I see on ads. I have to keep calling for a neck--break. My neck gets sore from looking up. And I have to keep spitting out the little bits that get in my mouth. But we are slowly getting there. Almost half the house done. We will put pink fibreglass batts under the bedrooms as they will not need to be cut to size and have notches cut out etc. It will be a matter of crawling on our backs to do that end of the house. At least this end we can climb the step ladder.

I once laid fibreglass insulation in a flat I had moved into, a brand new one in the 1970s but with no insulation. I did it all by myself and was so chuffed! Six months later I got allocated a larger flat and so I went back up into the loft and rolled up the stuff I had laid, put in plastic bags and took it to the new flat. Then I found the new place already had insulation so I kept the bags of stuff and used them on the house I bought and modernised a year later lol
