You will not get me in a postition to argue, or fall out ,I have stated my reason for my post.perhaps if you just played down your condesending attitued in that you need to explain in great detail your replies you could save your self some finger typing,,,

As most across the pond do have some common sense,

Funny, Kay, we actually agreed. Don't know what bug you've got up your nose. But hey, feel free to bring nationality into it.

Here's one for you all from this side of the pond, though the other side of that very important border:

We must respect the other fellow's religion, but only in the sense and to the extent that we respect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his children smart -H.L. Mencken

Pretty much anything can be substituted for "religion" there, I'd say.

I have just come across this thread and I'm surprised that it's been turned into a slanging match by some.

The original poster wondered why Asda had reacted like this and Kathryn explained....calmly and sensibly, why the store probably had the policy and why with the policy in place, the staff had to abide by it.

Reading through the thread it appears as if some people replying were more interested in resurrecting old arguments than discussing this issue.

It is sad but true that society has become more suspicious of any images of children. We had someone the other evening complaining that they couldn't take photos of their own grandchildren swimming.

I think it is a shame in this particular case as I am sure the baby photo was a completely innocent joke but I suppose if the policy makes it less likely that any child could have a photo abused then it's all for the good.

Please, Joy.

I am not "MISS" anything.

I realize that because I don't join the chorus of how proud I am to wear the MRS label, assumptions might be made. They shouldn't be.

My name is the name I was born with. It's my name. I don't need somebody else's. It has nothing to do with my marital status. And my marital status has nothing to do with pretty much anything I do in life.

You may call me Ms. B, should you feel the need.

Now what I'm suppoesd to be wrong about, I couldn't guess.

Always nice to see a voice of reason, Sue!

I really don't see why there is all this fuss - the situation is par for the course these days, and it was handled well by Asda, I would say. I would think the star looked good and more amusing than a bare bum!

Regarding KathrynB's posts, I don't know why everyone jumps on the bandwagon every time. Yes, sometimes the posts are blunt, even aggressive, but surely instead of dragging things out, it is better just to continue the initial discussion and ignore Kathryn's post, or agree if that is the way you think.
No need for all this nit picking of wording which just causes unpleasantness and strife.
Life's too short, and babies' bums are lovely!
