If your cat was flea and worm treated a few days ago perhaps it is having a reaction to the chemicals ?

Stray - that's encouraging to hear, that she doesn't go far. :-))

Maddie - yes! I think so too lol. Pep is the only 3-legged feline in our cul-de-sac (there's quite a lot of cats here) but he's afraid of nothing! Only cars, lol. My little lion, he is.

Just read this. Maybe she has something stuck in her gut, ie elastic band, toy etc.

* I must be getting back to normal* :))

Two of mine are 'sicky' cats... one is about 16, the other 13... so I have got used to it!

These are the times they are sick

If they have been de flea'd and/or wormed.
If their food dishes are too close to another cats
If they are thrown off the bed cos they forget to retract their claws when they are padding
If they have a meal they really like and gulp it down too quickly.

If there is too much activity going on around them while they are eating... even if it is pleasant activity
When they are moulting
If the weather temperature alters dramatically.

If I have a new item of furniture/rug/bedding.......

Any time they feel slightly stressed, hard done to, greedy, ignored, or need to avenge themselves of some evil deed I have done to them (visits to vets is absolutely guaranteed)

If Stray is not de-hydrated, seems happy and content, her coat still looks good and isn't looking too scruffy, her haws aren't showing, and the contents of her litter tray seem to be normal... then a quick check up to put your mind at rest tomorrow should sort you out, lol!!

My cat, Pepsi, is also a cat that throws up. He goes through phases of it every couple of weeks and it'll last a few days. It usually happens just after he's eaten and the whole lot comes up. I have a feeling it's because he's got a furball at that time that he can't get up.

But he's also vomited when I've had visitors, so I think nerves also causes it.

Like Lorraine's cat, Pepsi also ate cotton from a whole reel of it that he'd found on top of my wardrobe (which is where I used to keep my cottons). Well, the outcome was he had half his intestines removed and is lucky to be alive! Given the chance he'd do it all again - he is a nightmare with anything stringy and has pulled up carpet edges to eat the threads and forever making himself sick that way.

Maybe your cat ate something dodgy?

Hope you find out soon.

Regards, Athena

One of my daughters has two cats. One is a small tortoiseshell-coloured female, who was rescued from being drowned in a sack. She is a very nervous cat, we have never actually seen her eat in all the 17 years my daughter has had her.She is sick at least once a day, leaves a little pile of undigested (dry) food for us to slide on.Other than that, she is healthy.

♥Athena Report 30 Apr 2008 10:25

Claddagh - could be because that dry food swells up in their stomach and probably makes them feel quite bloated and icky.

I have 2 cats - brother and sister.. The little girl is hardley ever sick, but the male.. he goes through fazes.. he wont be sick for ages and then he is constantly sick for 2 weeks - food and furbulls. I comb him every day now with the winter coat being lost. But I have also noticed - if he has eaten and then goes chasing after his sister he will throw up.. Always a nice sound that is lol
